Impact of drought on drinking water supply
Bergerová, Marie ; Sucháček, Tomáš (referee) ; Ručka, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of water age in the distribution system of drinking water supply. Various scenarios were simulated, which represented a reduction in water consumption due to the replacement of part of drinking water with rainwater. In first part, various definitions of drought and possible effects of drought are presented. The second part is focused on the consumption of water from the water supply network. The uses of drinking water in the household are defined here, but also an indication is included which household activities do not need to use drinking water, which can be replaced with rainwater. The practical part describes an analysis of water age. Not only was the analysis processed for different scenarios, these scenarios were also compared for different times of the year, including the annual average, the summer period (July, August) and the winter period (January, February). The analysis was performed using the Epanet 2.0 software program. In processing the results of the water age analysis, the relationship between water age, velocity, flow rate and pressure ratios were evaluted.
Hydraulic analysis of the water supply network of the municipality of Ostopovice
Jaroš, Zdeněk ; Sucháček, Tomáš (referee) ; Ručka, Jan (advisor)
The theses focuses on a hydraulic analysis of a water supply network of a village called Ostopovice, located in South Moravia. Theses presents a detailed quasi-dynamic hydraulic simulation of the water supply network based on own consumer field survey. Subsequently, the assembled model was calibrated and verified by hydraulic data measured on the water supply network. The model was made to simulate characteristic water supply system operating conditions. Using the hydraulic analysis results, the theses assesses network pressure conditions with regards to the existing building range and type, taking into the account the extent of expected house development of the area. The work concludes with a proposition for measures leading to the water supply network pressure conditions optimization.
Impact of pressure condition on water consuption in water distribution network
Straňák, Petr ; Sucháček, Tomáš (referee) ; Tuhovčák, Ladislav (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with effect of pressure conditions in the water supply network on consumption of drinking water. The introductory part describes how pressures affect water consumption and six studies from different countries carried out on real network are presented. Further, the work is devoted to other factors influencing water consumption and distribution of domestic water consumption. The practical part deals with the laboratory measurement of the influence of pressure change on tested discharge fittings for flowing and dripping water. The results are also expressed in annual costs and a method is presented how the effect of pressure change can be quantified if we know the average daily consumption and its distribution.

Optimisation of pressure condition in water supply systems
Sucháček, Tomáš ; Svoboda,, Miroslav (referee) ; Pollert, Jaroslav (referee) ; Tuhovčák, Ladislav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the optimization of pressure conditions in the water supply network. There is a deep theoretical and critical search of the state of the art and there are fields where there is an insufficient field of knowledge, the so-called "knowledge gap". Experiments are proposed here to determine the dependence of water consumption on pressure conditions. There is a description of experiments and way how it was carried out, which were carried out on the water connection, in the pressure zone and in the laboratory on the hydraulic loop. There is proposed a methodology of experimental determination of the mathematical dependence of water consumption on pressure so that it can be used for optimization problems, where consumption is considered as an optimization criterion. The results of individual experiments are evaluated and a critical discussion of the achieved results is carried out. Finally, the achieved results are compared with the values found in a deep literature search.

Properties of fine sediments in the water supply network
Dukát, Petr ; Sucháček, Tomáš (referee) ; Ručka, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with properties of fine sediments which occur naturally in water supply pipes. With focus on issues of fine sediments samples literature search was made and measurement methodology, which enables better understanding the behavior of sediment in the water supply network, was determined. During controlled pipes flushing, samples of fine sediments were taken from selected water pipes sections and under laboratory conditions sedimentation test, using measurement methodology, was made. Sedimentation test included the measurement of turbidity for the time necessary to meet the limit value of turibidity given by the government regulation for drinking water. Results of this thesis are important input information for simulating the spread of high turbid water in the water supply network during a turbidity event.

Benchmarking of Water Utilities in Czech Republic
Hájek, Břetislav ; Sucháček, Tomáš (referee) ; Tuhovčák, Ladislav (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis is focused on knowledge of benchmarking of water companies with performance indicators. The main task is to to gather basic and complementrary indicators into the Excel table, which calculates performance indicators. All indicators are then rewritten into the WaBe web application. Data are collected from the company’s annual reports, which are downloadable on the website of the Ministry of Justice www.justice.org, where companies are required to submit their annual reports. The first part of the bachelor thesis is a description of benchmarking and the companies that do it in water industry as foreign companies (IWA, EBC, IBNET, EurEau, AWWA, WRF) as well as the czech organizations (SOVAK, Ministry of Agriculture, WaBe). In the second part is the presentation and analysis of selected water companies. For the selected indicatorsis made comparsion with graphs created in Excel.
Performance indicators of selected water utilities in Czech Republic
Vaculík, Tomáš ; Sucháček, Tomáš (referee) ; Tuhovčák, Ladislav (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis id focused on comparative analysis performance indicators of chosen water companies in the Czech Republic. The first task of this assignment was collecting and processing of basic and supplemented indicators of chosen water companies. These indicators were recorded to the file created in excel. All data of all companies are freely available on the internet page: www.justice.org, where these companies are required to post their annual reports. In the first part of this bachelor thesis, organizations are described, companies and applications dealing with the issue of comparative analysis in the water companies. Representatives are elected from the foreign sector (IWA, IBNET, EurEau, EBC), as well as from the home sector (SOVAK, Metodika MZe, WaBe). The second part of this thesis begin with presentation of all companies, which is provided with comparative analysis. Analysis were from the biggest part processed by the application WaBe. For the better overview of this work, graphs made in application excel were added to this analysis.
