SoftSPARKSforMANC
Švachulová, Klára ; Krejzek, Petr (referee) ; Sterec, Pavel (advisor)
My diploma thesis titled softSPARKSforMANCE deals with the New Romantic pop culture of the 80s. It is about the connection of visual styles, in terms of design, architecture, fashion, music and arts. This amount of mutual intertwining of artistic subjects is so extraordinary and unique that this aspect has been highlighted the most, with an attempt to portray it into multiple layers concurrently, in multiple planes. The result is a reminiscence on the pop culture music club in its entirety as the New Romantic Diversity of the 80s.
Playground
Haviarová, Kristína ; Sterec, Pavel (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
In my work there is a great deal of handcuffing, conceptual approach to sculpture, space perception, aesthetic and intuitive work with material. I try to express a state that she can not always describe by words. All the knowledge and experience I have gained during my studies, I would like to apply to my bachelor work. Almost throughout my studies, I have been intensively engaged in plaster work as one of the basic sculptures. In exaggeration, we can talk about some obsession with the material. I deal with colorful but also structural deviations in different species. I work with it not only as a dense material but also as a material with a crust, but with a rough surface. It is some sort of rewinding into this material and through subtle objects and spatial installations I express the inner state, reaction to change and attitude to the environment. My final thesis will be a set of objects with interrelations but without a hierarchical arrangement. It will be about creating a stateless situation, variations in the state of a dead end. As part of the simple objects, gypsum "figures" will be the main actors of the already mentioned situation, with which they have to deal with themselves. I put in expectations that are never filled (static installation), a certain kind of tension occurs. However, gypsum does not have to play only the role of the main hero, it can be purely a part of an object based on aesthetic or sensual choice. I'm not trying to interact. The viewer is just an observer, the voyager who enters the frozen already. It can take the atmosphere and make a deliberate change into the situation of the main heroes of the work.
Planetary Thermodynamics : Energy Justice
Mitro, Michal ; Vojtěchovský, Miloš (referee) ; Sterec, Pavel (advisor)
Touto prácou chcem uvažovať a vytvoriť svet, kde Energia - základná a univerzálna sila - determinuje celkovú infraštruktúru globálnych aktivít a vzťahov.
Cycling Mechanism/Linguistic Fluidity
Dlabaja, Martin ; Lungová, Barbora (referee) ; Sterec, Pavel (advisor)
The main purpose of this work is to show relative scales of temperature changes during holocene and pleistocene [1.] using evaluated combined data sets from Greenland Ice Core Project and Vostok Ice Core project [2.]. Projects are researching values of CO2 in atmosphere using deep drills into sedimentary ice sheet layers corresponding in its maximum depth (approx. 3 km) to 800 kyr BP [3.] Values of CO2 correlates with temperature [4.]. Then we can lay out different cultural peak events on weather background and analyze the influence of temperature changes on rise and fall of empires, (Mesopotamia, Egypt, Shang, Indus, Rome) or study dramatic extinction events (Younger Dryas), watch the very beginning of culture in Fertile Crescent to witch trials in european “dark ages” in very close and evident correlation to weather change. Second goal is introduction to perceiving deep time as such.Third would be to raise questions and discussion about our own supposedly rigid timeline given to us by archeology by purposefully picked events such as meltwater pulses in Younger Dryas. (Lost cultures in Younger Dryas? Boloid impacts? Immediate emergence of writing systems without any proto evidence?) Of course a point of this work I didn’t mention is to present scientific data in aesthetically pleasing and effective way. These researches can be really “mind-blowing” if presented thoughtfully, (here in a way that is both attractive and shows scales and impact on our present day in a context of a global warming), but stays hidden from common knowledge due to for some “sterile” presentation in data sheets, which can be hard to read and make sense out of for people missing context.
Steal me your €motion
Rygálová, Monika ; Országhová, MA Kristína (referee) ; Sterec, Pavel (advisor)
The text deals with ways and methods of creating my diploma thesis called Steal me your €motion. The diploma thesis deals with the relationship between machine learning and emotionality. To what extent is artificial intelligence able to undergo emotional relationships and experiences defined by the physicality and experience of the human body. The topic of the work is the creation of a (fictional) inhuman entity that longs to learn from people as many bodily acts as possible that will help it infiltrate the human community. In addition to reflecting the current level of scientific knowledge, I bring an element of fiction and fiction.
Hand in sleeve
Levitnerová, Judita ; Juříková, Karolína (referee) ; Sterec, Pavel (advisor)
The diploma thesis consists of a textile image (200x160cm) and an object (80x20cm) created by the author's method of melting and sintering a polyester fabric. In the digital version of the presentation, it gives the possibility of a detailed display and thus lets the viewer's view penetrate into the very structure of the work.
