Weight proportionality and body composition in contemporary Czech preschool children
Janebová, Martina ; Sedlak, Petr (advisor) ; Zamrazilová, Hana (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on the evaluation of actual state in somatic parametres, weight proportionality and body composition of contemporary Czech preschool children. The aim of this study is to prove validity of reference standards for selected somatic parametres, body mass index and body composition which were established in 1990 (and 1991 respectively). Due to the changes in socioeconomic status, dietary habits and level of physical activity between 1990 and 2017 we assume significant changes in the physical composition of current preschool children, namely a decrease in the proportion of the muscle component and an increase in the fat component for total body weight. It is also assumed that the body mass index (BMI) and % of adiposity will give different results for assesing overweight and obesity. The study involved a total of 468 children aged 4 to 6 years, 228 girls and 240 boys. In the pilot study between 2013 and 2014, 179 children, 90 girls and 89 boys were surveyed in 4 nursery schools in Prague, 1 in Kladno and 1 in Jihlava. In a follow-up study conducted between 2016 and 2017, a total of 289 children, 138 girls and 151 boys from 6 nursery schools in Prague were examined. Significant changes were demonstrated in almost all somatic parameters investigated, but the changes mostly...
Intersexual differences of adiposity markers in contemporary Czech children aged 11 - 15 years
Auxtová, Martina ; Sedlak, Petr (advisor) ; Zamrazilová, Hana (referee)
Thesis is focused on the analysis of intersexual differences in adiposity markers within urban population of Czech children from 11,00 to 15,99 years. This age range encompasses puberty which is one of the critical periods for the possible development of overweight and obesity. The sample PRAHA 2013 consists of 356 girls and 353 boys which were surveyed for basic anthropometric indicators - body height, body weight, BMI, mid- upper arm circumference and the thickness of four skinfolds. Intersexual differences discovered in measured parameters show statistical significance (p<0,01 resp. p<0,001) and it corresponds with the characteristic changes of pubertal development in both of genders. Testing file PRAHA 2013 against reference standards and its comparison with the results of the last Czechoslovak spartakiade in 1985 points to positive secular trend of increasing body height. However increase in weight parametres is still continuing. Probands from the year 2013 reach higher body weight values, BMI and skinfold thickness in comparison with children of the same age in 1985, 1991 resp. 2001. Significant differences were found out in the most of age categories in both of genders. Keywords: adiposity tissue, subcutaneous fat, skinfolds, body fat distribution, sexual dimorphism, obesity, secular trend
Alternative approaches for Preparation of AlN Nanolayers by Atomic Layer Deposition
Dallaev, Rashid ; Krčma, František (referee) ; Kolařík, Vladimír (referee) ; Sedlák, Petr (advisor)
Nitrid hliníku (AlN) je slibný polovodivý materiál s velkou mezerou v pásu. Tenké filmy AlN nacházejí uplatnění v různých elektronických a optoelektronických zařízeních. Vodíkové nečistoty byly zkoumány pomocí přesných a pokročilých technik patřících do skupin analýzy iontovým paprskem (IBA).
Growth of the Czech breastfed children at the age of 0-12 months
Riedlová, Jitka ; Schneidrová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Hrstková, Hana (referee) ; Sedlak, Petr (referee)
In the last decade, there is a growing focus of health professionals on growth of children and their mode of feeding in the early age. According to the WHO global public health recommendation, infants should be exclusively breastfed for the first six months and thereafter should receive nutritionally adequate and safe complementary foods while breastfeeding continues up to two years or beyond. In 2006, the WHO published growth standards and recommended their using for the assessment of growth of children up to the age of 5 years. The Czech Republic has a long-term tradition of its own nation-wide anthropological surveys (CAS) which provide data for constructing reference growth charts to be used for evaluation of growth and thriving in children. Therefore, the WHO growth standards were not implemented automatically. First, the study on growth of Czech infants exclusively or predominantly breastfed for at least 4 months (n=960) was undertaken. The aim of the study was to evaluate whether Czech growth references or WHO growth standards are more appropriate for growth assessment of Czech children. The study monitored four basic body parameters - length, head circumference, weight and weight to length. The hypothesis that growth curves of Czech breastfed infants will correspond to the WHO growth...
Variants Of Possible Penetrations Of Municipalities By Pv Sources
Sedlák, Petr
The study deals with the probable variants of penetration of municipalities by photovoltaic sources. It describes the current situation in the selected municipality in terms of photovoltaic power plants and considers possible alternatives for photovoltaic penetration. Probable option for penetrating photovoltaic sources in the municipality is determined.
Analysis of the current development of electromobility, comparison of different types of drives
Vobecký, Jan ; Sedlák, Petr (referee) ; Vémola, Aleš (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of the current development of electromobility and the description of different types of drives. The first part deals with the basic theory of electric vehicles on batteries, hybrid vehicles and fuel cell vehicles. The second part provides analysis and data on the offered electric cars. At the end of the work is an evaluation of the situation.
Development of vital lung capacity in children
Navrátilová, Nela ; Sedlak, Petr (advisor) ; Novák, Jan (referee)
Deficiency of physical activity can negatively affect the functional and morphological development of an individual. This bachelor thesis provides a basic overview of the anatomy of the respiratory system and the development of the lungs in the prenatal and postnatal period. It also follows up the development of lung function in children and the factors that influence this development. The parameters of the greatest informative value from the point of view of morphological and consequently also functional differentiation of the lungs are forced expiratory volume in t second, forced vital capacity and Tiffeneau-Pinelli index. These parameters of lung function are used by most studies that have evaluated the relationship between their level of development and the child's physical activity. The effect of physical activity on the development of lung function was recorded mainly in the pubertal and prepubertal periods. The health condition of the child is also limiting for the proper development of lung functions. Different values compared to healthy individuals occur, for example, in individuals with cystic fibrosis or asthma. Key words: Vital capacity of the lungs; spirometry; physical activity
