Classical Artifacts in the Collections of the Regional museum in Vysoké Mýto

Bachelor thesis This paper processes ancient objects from the collections of the Regional Museum in Vysoké Mýto. The focus is on "Collection of Pompeii," containing two ceramic lamps, six glass bottles, mostly balsamaria and ten small metal objects between which appears crossbow brooch, keys or arrowheads. In addition to this collection is processed even brick with stamp of Roman legion. The work also includes an excursion to the 19th century, where we can see increasing interest in archeology and collecting ancient monuments in Bohemia. On this basis, the conclusion discusses whether the items really come from Pompeii or not, and the reason why this collection was named after this Italian place, was examined.
