Positive and Negative Aspects of the Selected Forms of Governmen - Parliamentary Republic vs. Presidential Republic - Comparative Analysis

The diploma thesis in question is focused on the selected forms of government: the parliamentary and the presidential republic. Before a comparative analysis of particular examples of states is done, other areas concerned with the topic have to be described. The first chapter depicts the state through its features, functions and forms. Then two essential forms of government - the monarchy and the republic - are specified in the historical and present context. The next chapter focuses on the model of separation of powers among the executive, legislative and judicial power, and specifies the relations between them. These relations shape the factual form of the government. Except the parliamentary and presidential system, other types of government are introduced, for example the dualistic monarchy, the semi-presidential republic etc. The aim of this work is to define, specify and compare the relations between the legislature and the executive in the Czech Republic and the United States of America. The result of the comparison is not evident because it is not possible to say which form is better. Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation (Ombudsman)

The aim of this diploma thesis called The Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation is to provide a comprehensive insight into the formation and development process of the institute of the human rights commissioner by means of description and analysis. At the same time, it attempts to facilitate a better understanding of this institute inside the Russian social system. The opening section defines the institute of ombudsman from the historical and theoretical point of view and puts it in the post-Soviet context. The following section touches on the key legislation related to this institute in the Russian Federation and on the way it was formed and embedded in Russia. A separate chapter addresses the competences and specific tasks of the public defender of rights. This chapter is supported by annual reports issued by the Russian ombudsman's office. The last section of the thesis deals with the relationship between the ombudsman, the Russian establishment and non-governmental human rights organizations. The relationship is defined theoretically and illustrated by practical examples and specific cases. The main objective of this bachelor thesis entitled 'The Level of the Protection of Human Rights in the Russian Federation' is to describe and analyse the current situation of the protection of human rights and freedoms in the Russian Federation. At the same time, it tries to find answers to the question, what is the level of the protection of human rights in this country? After the more general interpretation of the concept of human rights and an overview of the development of human rights in the Russian Federation, the thesis concentrates on the issue of the Russian substantive and procedural law of human rights. The following is a list of state, non-governmental and international organizations, centers, and clubs dealing with the protection of human rights. In the final chapter are pointed out flagrant violations of human rights. To illustrate human rights abuses, specific cases are also documented. Comparison of electoral systems of the Parliament of the CR and the Bundestag of FRG

The aim of this master thesis is to compare electoral systems of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany. Firstly, basic terms regarding substance and types of elections, suffrage and primary classification of electoral systems are briefly characterized with the help of literature. Secondly, electoral system of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, its form in the context of the political system of the Czech Republic as a whole, its development over time and its impact on the results of elections in the last twenty years is described in detail. Furthermore, the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany is analysed in the same way, too. At the end of this thesis, advantages and disadvantages of both electoral systems are compared and their possible changes are outlined. Freedom of speech and racial extremism

Apart from the basic definitions used in the paper, the main objective of this bachelor thesis is especially mutual correlation of freedom of speech as the one of basic human rights and race extremism which is undesirable phenomenon in mature society. The first section is devoted to definition of term "freedom of speech" by means of legal regulation included both in Declaration of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms and international agreements. To specify freedom of speech exactly, it is necessary to consider its limitation in a series of documents which are also mentioned in the introductory section. The second section of the thesis is focused on the definition of another significant term often used in the thesis - race extremism. A part of this section is a smaller sub-section containing one of many cases of race attacks. The main reason for choosing this case was personal participation of the author of this thesis in the attack. The main objective of this sub-section is not only presentation of the actual case but application of theoretical knowledge in this concrete case. No other cases were chosen so that the thesis did not receive any unwanted causative contents. The main goal of this thesis named Municipal self-government in the Czech Republic (illustrated on the example of Kralupy nad Vltavou City) is to process and summarize the framework of municipal function in both theoretical and practical way. Also, it is shown how to use the knowledge for didactic purposes. Therefore the thesis is divided into the theoretical, practical and didactic part. The theory answers the questions such as What is self-government? By whom is it executed and where? How is it controlled? The practical part continuously uses collected information and shows how each of self-government aspects works in concrete example of Kralupy nad Vltavou City. The third part is focused on how to apply this issue in teacher training.

Partnerships of record of individuals of the same sex from ethics and law point of view

This thesis is looking at the issue of registered partnerships from the perspective of ethics and law. The main objective of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive perspective on registered partnership problematic and on other current issues related to this topic. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with the history of homosexuality from ancient Greece to modern times, furthermore it focuses on the actual registered partnership and the regularization process of the necessary law in the Czech Republic. It covers a topic of religion perspective on homosexuality, the issue of child adoptions by homosexual couples and not least the blood donation problematic. The practical part deals with the social investigational survey, its processing and reporting the results. The aim of the social survey was to obtain a view on the homosexual minority from the society and get their opinions about the questions analyzed in the theoretical part.
