Trends in Traditional Czech Cuisine
Janíčková, Klára ; Vinopal, Jiří (advisor) ; Richter, Eva (referee)
(english) Just like the whole society is going through modernization, culture and tradition is experiencing the very same modernization and it is being changed. Every culture contains food, it is a component of everyday life for all people. Food satisfies needs, it develops creativity, but it is as well part of socialization and interpersonal communication. The whole process of food purchase, food preparation and food consumption is interwoven by values and norms, learned stereotypes and social pressures. This bachelor's thesis works with content analysis and it reveals changes made in the presentation of recipes for czech traditional dishes, looking at the modernization of society, eating habits and gastronomic scene of the Czech Republic in culinary magazines printed for Czech public. These recipes are compared to traditional version from author Marie Janků- Sandtnerová. The content analysis showed that modern recipes are rich in ingredients and there are as well changes in terms of health and nutritional benefits. Key words: tradition; modernization; food; traditional kitchen; eating habits; eating trends; gastronomy
Perception of financial risks
Horová, Kateřina ; Richter, Eva (advisor) ; Sieber, Martina (referee)
The thesis is concerned with the perception of financial risks, concretely the perception of the risk of indebtedness. In the theme are used data from an online panel from Behavio Labs in order to find out whether the citizens of the Czech Republic perceive taking bank or non-bank loans , eventually more loans simultaneously, as risky or not and which socio-demographic variables are related to the perception of the risk of indebtedness. As independent variables are analysed variables gender, age, education, income, number of kids, marital status, region, or money satisfaction. The methodological framework is based on descriptive statistics, contingency tables, serial correlations, and the non- parametric Kruskall-Wallis test. The thesis reveals that citizens of the Czech Republic in general perceive taking loans as risky. Because of the very oblique distribution for all dependent variables measuring risk perception of different types of loans, not too many statistically significant relationships were revealed. The strongest relationship that was shown was the dependence between risk perception of bank loans and education, as well as income. Key words: Risk perception, indebtedness, financial risks, risk tolerance, bank loans, non-bank loans
Eco-labelling and consumer behaviour
Petty, Silvia ; Richter, Eva (advisor) ; Mazák, Jaromír (referee)
Human impact on the environment has significant social causes as well as effects. A change in consumer behavior in all respects is therefore necessary to protect the environment. The issue of consumption reduction is therefore becoming increasingly important in the context of climate change in recent years. Consumer lifestyle also involves the consumption of textile products - clothing in a conventional manner, the so-called fast fashion, which also contributes to increasing the environment related burden and negative impacts on human health. The so-called slow, ethically and sustainably produced fashion allows to reduce this burden. Consumers' willingness to buy organically produced and eco-certified products is important to reduce environmental burdens and therefore the understanding of consumer behavior that leads to their purchase is important. Through qualitative in-depth interviews this thesis identifies the motivators and barriers to purchasing eco-certified fashion and other textile products and brings a deeper understanding of these motivators and barriers. These motivators include the certificate itself, good feeling, pursuit of environmentally friendly behavior, health aspects, trend. As barriers, this thesis further recognizes the lack of knowledge about eco-certified fashion, negative...
Changes in Social Perception of Tattoos
Kalačová, Barbora ; Richter, Eva (advisor) ; Sedláčková, Markéta (referee)
The theme of this thesis is the change of attitude of Czech society towards tattooing between the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first is a theoretical division, in which tattoos and their social function are presented in a historical context, as well as the importance of tattoos in today's world and the ever-present phenomenon of stigmatization. The second part of the thesis is empirical, at the beginning of which the methodology of the research and data collection is described. Furthermore, the results themselves are presented, which are thematically divided according to individual categories according to which they were analyzed. The respondents' gender, age and socio-demographic situation were selected as criteria. At the end of the thesis a discussion of the results of the empirical part is presented, as well as the already existing academic knowledge, which was presented in the theoretical part.

Effect of global poverty reduction on wild animal welfare
Petr, Tomáš ; Vandrovcová, Tereza (advisor) ; Richter, Eva (referee)
Effect of global poverty reduction on wild animal welfare Abstract This thesis aims to find a connection in the form of theory or economic model between two concepts - world poverty and wild animal welfare. By synthesising contemporary knowledge, we aim to answer the question of whether there are scientifically-based explanations for the relationship between decreasing global poverty and welfare of wild animals. We also aim to answer the question of whether the welfare of wild animals is worsening or improving with declining global poverty. Assuming that animals are sentient beings, their welfare is negatively affected by the variety of human activities. These activities can be undertaken by humans intentionally (e.g. hunting) or unintentionally, with the industrial activities leading to the disruption of animal habitats or chemical contamination of the biosphere. We approach the problem of reducing global poverty on wild animal welfare in two ways. First, we find an explanation of the relationship between the growth of society's wealth and environmental degradation from a macro-perspective using the environmental Kuznets curve and its derivative - animal welfare Kuznets curve. Using these curves, however, the interpretation of the impact of poverty reduction on wild animal welfare can only be very limited....
Local food: attitudes and behaviours of Czech consumers
Pešková, Veronika ; Zvěřinová, Iva (advisor) ; Richter, Eva (referee)
(in English): The diploma thesis deals with the issue of local foods and analyses factors influencing the purchasing behavior of Czech consumers. The theoretical part focuses on the problems related to the definition of local food, relying on the three domains of proximity taxonomy as proposed by Eriksen (2013). It further examines the reasons of increased interest in local production, which include anti-globalization trends, environmental issues and other value changes in society. Significant foreign and Czech research of local production and Czech consumer behavior is presented. At the end of the theoretical part, selected theories suitable for explaining the purchasing behavior of local foods as well giving insight into the theoretical foundation and research of this thesis are described. This is primarily the Alphabet Theory (Zepeda & Deal, 2009), which is based on earlier theories of Value-Belief-Norm Theory (Stern et al., 1999) and Attitude-Behavior-Context Theory (Guagnano et al., 1995). The empirical part builds on the theoretical basis and provides an analysis of the Czech consumer based on qualitative semi-structured interviews as well as a quantitative survey representative of Czech population aged 18 to 65 years in terms of selected sociodemographic characteristics. They give insight...
