Comparative study of interaction between surfactant and hyaluronan and different polyelectrolytes.
Stiborský, Filip ; Pravda,, Martin (referee) ; Pekař, Miloslav (advisor)
In this diploma thesis, the interactions between polyelectrolyte and surfactant at low and also at high concentration were studied. There was used pyrene as fluorescent probe during the fluorescence spectroscopy measurement, a cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and as a main polyelectolyte has been chosen sodium polystyrene sulfonate at 1 MDa molecular size. In the medium containing 0.15 M NaCl we could observed a creation of the complexes – precipitates in the surrounding of CMC concentration and behind of this concentration. In the mixtures containing sodium polystyrene sulfonate and hyaluronan together, there was stronger tend to keep aggregation properties of sodium polystyrene sulfonate during difference concentration ratios. Beyond CMC concentration, hyaluronan starts to influence the aggregation properties of the system as well.
Rousseau and his Influence on the French Revolution
Pravda, Petr ; Znoj, Milan (advisor) ; Šimsa, Martin (referee)
The "rigorózní" thesis focuses on the evaluation of Rousseau's legacy. It is based on the confrontation of two adverse pictures of his ideas. The first image sees Rousseau as a thinker who prepared with his original concepts fertile ground for diverse undemocratic regimes and ideologies. These always declare their allegiance to the loftiest ideals but only to perpetrate the biggest crimes and to deprive people of their liberty. The second image sees in Rousseau an uncompromising critic of social injustice who saw the only possibility for redemption in liberty and equality. In this case he was one of the most important thinkers who inspired people on the road to the victory of democracy and an author whose original ideas still keep to inspire and to fascinate. I argue in favor of the second picture. Rousseau's critique of the moral crisis is based on the disunity of modern social man. This disunity stems from the incessant conflict between our natural nature and the social state. Rousseau saw the only solution in the adaptation of the original nature to the new social state. This can be achieved only through an affective bond to a political whole. Just so can man keep his liberty which represents the basic value of his existence. In society it is no more a case of absolute freedom but of conscious obedience...
The mathematical theory of perturbations in cosmology
Novák, Jan ; Pravda, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Chopovsky, A. (referee) ; Scholtz, Martin (referee)
We deal with cosmological perturbation theory in my work. We investigate General Theory of Relativity in Higher Dimensions in the Chapter 1. I mention GHP-formalism and algebraical classification of spacetimes. I use spinors to show that spacetimes of dimension 4 are special. I discuss also Kundt spacetimes, which are interesting for perturbation theory of black holes. I work with perturbations of FLRW ST's in GHP formalism in Chapter 2, which we want to use in Cosmological Inflation. The final part of my thesis is connected with scalar perturbations in f(R)-cosmologies, that can be used for explaining accelerated expansion in the last 5 billion years. I investigate the Universe at the scales of 150 Mpc, where I could not use the hydrodynamical approach. Thus I work with the generalization of the Landau's mechanical approach. I need quasi-static approximation for getting the potentials Φ and Ψ, since the equations are too complicated for direct integration. I plan to use the result also for numerical simulation of motions of dwarf galaxies in these potentials. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Inhomogeneous cosmological models
Vrba, David ; Svítek, Otakar (advisor) ; Pravda, Vojtěch (referee) ; Žofka, Martin (referee)
In this work we study inhomogeneous cosmological models. After a brief review of applications of inhomogeneous solutions to Einstein equations in cosmology, we give a short description of the most widely used inhomogeneous cosmological models. In the second chapter we study in detail geometrical prop- erties of the Szekeres spacetime and we are concerned with the interpretation of the metric functions in different types of geometries. In the last chapter we model inhomogeneity in Szekeres spacetime. We derive formula for the density contrast and investigate its behaviour. We also derive conditions for the density extremes that are necessary for avoiding the shell crossing singularity in Szekeres spacetime. 1
The mathematical theory of perturbations in cosmology
Novák, Jan ; Pravda, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Scholtz, Martin (referee) ; Chopovsky, A. (referee)
We have been studying Cosmological Perturbation Theory in this thesis. There was presented the Standard General Relativity in higher dimensions. Then we used the apparatus of so called GHP formalism and this is a generalization of the well-known NP-formalism. Scalar perturbations in f(R)-cosmology in the late Universe is the final topic, which was a logical step how to proceed further and to continue in work where was shown that four-dimensional spacetimes are special. We get the potentials φ and ψ for the case of a box 150 Mpc. We used the so called mechanical approach for the case of a cosmological background. Our approach of getting these potentials is in observable Universe new. It is interesting also in the context of simulations in these, so called nonlinear theories. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Substituated Poly(ethylene Glycols) as Drugs Carriers
Pravda, Martin ; Hrabálek, Alexandr (advisor) ; Dittrich, Milan (referee) ; Kalendová, Andrea (referee)
The aim of this dissertation thesis was preparation of drug delivery systems for polyene antimycotics, especially amphtoricin B(AmB). Series of pH-sensitive conjugates of AmB with substituated poly(ethylene glycols) (PEG) have been synthesized and characterized for this purpose. The intermediate PEGs possess a 1,4-disubstituted benzene ring with aldehyde group at the end of the chain. The benzene ring is connected with PEG at its 4-position (with respect to the aldehyde group) by various functional groups (ether, amide, ester). Reaction of terminal aldehyde group of the substituted PEGs with AmB gave conjugates containinga pH-sensitive imine linkage, which can be presumed to exhibit antimycotic effect at sites with lowered pH value. The stability of prepared conjugates under the different physiological conditions was studied. Phosphate buffers (pH = 7,4 or 5,5) were used as model media. Stability of conjugates in human blood plasma and human blood serum was examinated. The imine linkage is split to give free AmB with half-lives of 2-45 min. The rate of acid catalysed hydrolysis depends upon substitution of the benzene ring; however, it does not depend on molecular weights ofthe PEGs used. The conjugates with ester linkage undergo enzymatic splitting in human blood plasma and/or blood serum at pH 7.4...
Models in the Era of Socialism
Pravda, Jiří ; Franc, Martin (advisor) ; Schindler-Wisten, Petra (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with profession of mannequin in Czechoslovak. Focus is on the 1960s and 1970s of the 20th century. The diploma thesis focuses on questions, how the woman in Czechoslovakia could become a mannequin, how mannequins were perceived by ordinary people, what position in the world of work they had and what benefits mannequins had from their professions (e.g. benefits in the opportunity of travel, the opportunity to participate in an international exhibitions, filming etc.). The diploma thesis also focuses on the image of mannequins in contemporary media, especially in a feature film. In the diploma thesis there is not neglected contemporary fashion as well with focusing for example on artificial fabric or fashion that was seen in common shops and on the streets. The supporting structure of the thesis consists of interviews with mannequins of the socialist era, but one of the narrators is also a fashion designer Zdeňka Bauerová.
