THE SUFFERING OF GOD IN PENTATEUCH The work treats the matter of the suffering of God in Pentateuch. Part One deals with the suffering in the Old Testament generaly while special attention is being paid to the relationship between God and suffering. Part Two discusses anthropomorphic metaphors used to express God's emotions, especialy those related to suffering. Part Three studies the points of relation between the ways in which the Old and the New Testaments, respectively, view the suffering of God.

Divine Omnipotence and Human Impotence The thesis deals with the themes of divine omnipotence and human suffering and their relation in the book of Job. Besides providing general definitions, the author presents both themes on selected texts. She arrives at the following conclusion: divine omnipotence and human suffering are interrelated, without human suffering ever limiting the former or excluding it. Sickness unto Death or for the Glory of God? A Biblical View of Sickness. The thesis deals with the theme of sickness in Biblical texts. It examines the causes presupposed by the Biblical author and studies various approaches to sickness present in Biblical texts. While being devoted especially to the Old Testament, the thesis also includes some examples from the New Testament which have common points with the Old Testament understanding or develop further the Old Testament mind. Part One of the thesis defines the extent of area under research. It defines the notion of sickness as well as presenting the description of various kinds of sicknes and terminological analysis. Part Two deals with sickness in the life of the people of God, making research into the causes of sickness and its existence on the sacred as well as profane levels. Part Three discusses sickness as it takes shape in human life. It does not avoid themes like: response to sickness, the question of healing, and the relation of sickness to death.

The Desert Sanctuary of Israel According to the Pentateuch

The bachelor thesis deals with the first sanctuary of Israel. First, it describes the religion of the nations, from which Israel came. They are Babylonians and Assyrians, Egyptians and the people of Syropalestine. The history of Israel begins with the forefather Abraham, it continues in his descendants from whom Israel was established, the Lord's chosen people. The Lord led his people from Egypt into the desert, where he signed a contract with them. The main part deals with the first sanctuary of Israel. The sanctuary was portable. Its appearance is described in Ex 25-31,35-40, but it is a description of a developed cult. To find the beginnings of the cult of the Lord, which was carried by nomadic Israelites in the desert, it is necessary to turn to the old texts in the books of Exodus and Numbers, which describe the first tent and the ark. For more information it was necessary to compare the tabernacle of the temple of Solomon and similar objects used in the surrounding nations.
