The secondary objective was to ascertain the public awareness of obesity. Families with obese members are more informed although Theky do not observe the basis rule sof healthy nutrition. People in the age group from 40 to 60 obtain information particularly from their physician and, to a lower degree, from the media but do not pay much attention to them. On the other hand, they state that they have necessary information about obesity and realize the risk but do not pay much attention to them. Therefore, information provided by the media should focus on the prevention od obesity rather than on the subsequent weight reduction. There was also a large group of people who did not have the information and absolutely ignored this issue.
