Benková, Andrea ; OVSOVÁ, Libuše (advisor) ; DIATTA-REBCOVÁ, Monika (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to describe the structure of Countertechnique movement system. The thesis itself is divided into three chapters. As the Countertechnique movement system is tightly connected with creative process of Anouk van Dijk, it is crucial not to omit her influence and contribution to it. The second chapter is fully dedicated to the description of the Countertechnique system. I try to look at the formational process of this method in a complex way and consider all influences that had some impact on its current form. I also analyze the methodology and conception of Countertechnique and add my own practical experience with the technique. In the third chapter, I compare Countertechnique with other movement systems and methods. In the end of the thesis, I attach interviews with Countertechnique teachers Nina Wollny and Elita Cannata and Czech dancer Anna Jirmanová, who got into contact with this method during her work abroad.

THE INFLUENCE OF AFRICAN AMERICAN CULURE IN MODERN DANCE
Müllerová, Kristýna ; DIATTA-REBCOVÁ, Monika (advisor) ; OVSOVÁ, Libuše (referee)
This thesis summarizes the history of colonization of the United States of America, that was the main cause of its current diverse ethnic composition. It reveals political, social and cultural environment, in which afro-american dance style has been developed. One direction of this development searched for means of expression for stage performances. These concepts were influenced by Katherine Dunham, who has discovered the principles and roots of afroamerican dancing patterns by combining her interests in anthropology, ethnology and dancing. She identified herself with these principles a based her own art work upon them. At the same time, she found new sources of inspiration by examination of human nature and human origins, which can be used in modern pedagogical practices.
Famous graduates of the conservatory in Ostrava
Hájková, Petra ; WIESNER, Daniel (advisor) ; OVSOVÁ, Libuše (referee)
My bachelor thesis is dedicated to the Janáček Conservatory and Grammar School in Ostrava and its, in my opinion, the most significant graduates of the dance department. The introduction of the thesis briefly deals with the history of the conservatory, which was founded after several years of efforts in Ostrava. The area around Ostrava had a lot of talented people who attended elementary art schools and desired for secondary education, as well as those who lived in Bohemia. The main part of my thesis is dedicated to personalities who have graduated in this school. Some of them after finishing their active dance career share their experience with young artists and some of them are still engaged in the dance arts. These personages are the great benefit for the artistic life in dance at home and abroad.
Jarmila Kröschlová and Eliška Bláhová
Rauschová, Anna ; GREMLICOVÁ, Dorota (advisor) ; OVSOVÁ, Libuše (referee)
In my bachelor thesis, I am writing about two personalities of the Czech dance scene, Jarmila Kröschlová, dancer, teacher and choreographer who was working mostly in Prague, and Eliška Bláhová, a teacher working mostly in Brno. I have focused on the leading principles of their respective methods of dance and movement, that they have based on the study of the method of rhythm and movement of Émile Jaques-Dalcroze and that they have been further developing throughout their pedagogical careers. I have tried to compare the methods of Jarmila Kröschlová and Eliška Bláhová with special attention as to how they use the Jaques-Dalcroze method, especially his work with rhythm. Eventually, this comparison shows that Bláhová put a bigger emphasis on the rhythmical aspects of movements and their specific execution, while Kröschlová worked also with dynamics and a general expression of movement, which led to her creating a dancing method that she used even in her choreographic activities. The context is further supplemented by a reflection of several other receptions of the Jaques-Dalcroze method within the Czech dance scene.
