Korean game industry in the 21st century with focus on the player base

The aim of this thesis is to map the korean gaming industry in the 21st century, it's comparison with countries in the region and a look at the demographics of the players. In the first part of the thesis I am explaining basic terms involved with the industry, genres of games and gaming platforms, continued by a summary of the korean gaming industry. The main theme of the research is the comparison with countries in the region, particularly with the chinese and japanese gaming industry. During the comparison some influential companies, game studios and important game titles representing Korea, China and Japan are going to be highlighted. The next part of the thesis is focused on the player base and professional players of Korea, again in comparison with China and Japan.
