Intenzive City House
Nevřivá, Jana ; Zadražilová,, Miroslava (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the revitalization of the urban block in the street Křenová in the Trnitá district of Brno. The land is brownfield for the most part. The design of new space utilization includes a new building of an intensive urban area, so-called multifunctional house. Ponávka River is the compositional axis of a new development. The river indicates the character of the parterre. It is a place for relaxation and a walking promenade. The buildings have 1 - 4 aboveground and 1 underground floor. The compactness of the building differs from the second above-ground floor. Solitary objects are formed by a square or rectangular ground plan. The object is used for various purposes, such as services, administrative and residential areas or underground parking. The perimeter cladding of the building is made of brick cladding with respect to the surrounding area. The building is complemented by an external metal structure - stand-alone frames that can be used to hold green. The frames are repeated throughout the area and form a connecting element.

The upper part of the parcel passes into park on the hill called Kraví hora with the Observatory and Planetarium. The lower part of parcel passes into the Campus VUT Brno in the streets of Žižkova and Rybkova. The building will be used for exhibitions, lectures and a cafe will provide refreshments to visitors. The adjacent park influenced me at the design of object, I tried to keep an open space that would serve to rest and relax. The building is located in my proposal in the upper part of the parcel. Building consists of three different masses. Administration and lecture hall is located in the space the first mass. The second mass serves as an entrance hall and communication space in the middle part of the building. The third mass serves as the cafe and exhibition spaces with two floors.
