Envirnomental impact of household consumption
Mach, Radomír ; Ščasný, Milan (advisor) ; Šauer, Petr (referee) ; Musil, Petr (referee)
The main goal of this dissertation thesis is to quantify the environmental burden associated with household consumption in the Czech Republic. Emissions of three groups of gases were selected to express the burden on the environment, namely emissions causing climate change, acidification and the formation of photosmog. These emissions arise from the consumption of fuels in households, and they are usually referred to as direct household emissions. Or they arise in the production and distribution of goods and services, and they are usually referred to as indirect household emissions. Although indirect emissions come from combustion in energy production and other industrial processes and agricultural activities, not from households, they are a consequence of household demand for final products. Therefore, such emissions are considered to be a consequence of household consumption. The resulting emission values are given for the average household and households divided into expenditure deciles. Emissions increase with expenditure per household member in total consumption and in individual consumption groups across all deciles. In the case of climate change-related emissions, more than half come from heating (41%) and electricity (21%). For acidification, heating (31%) and food (24%) are the dominant...
Improving Accuracy of Detection and Recognition of Traffic Signs with GANs
Glos, Michal ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
The goal of this thesis was to extend a dataset for traffic sign detection. The solution was based on generative neural networks PatchGAN and Wasserstein GAN of combined DenseNet and U-Net architecture. Those models were designed to synthesize real looking traffic signs from images of their norms. Model for object detection SSD, trained on synthetic data only, achieved mean average precision of 59.6 %, which is an improvement of 9.4 % over the model trained on the original data. SSD model trained on synthetic and original data combined achieved mean average precision of 80.1 %.
Management of the energy transmission system polygon
Bohačík, Antonín ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Blažek, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the creation of a control interface for a polygon simulating the electrical distribution network of the Czech Republic, where communication between substations is realized by IEC 60870-5-104 protocol. The theoretical part of the thesis explains the basic principles, properties and possibilities of communication standards IEC 60870 and IEC 61850. The next part is focused on the actual implementation and subsequent implementation of the control interface, including the implementation of the IEC 61850-80-1 module for data transfer between the mentioned standards. The last part describes the created behavior scenarios or the analysis of communication itself.
Smart Metering demonstration demo
Gregor, Filip ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with PLC technology and issues with Smart Metering. In the theoretical part, a principle of technology's functionality and its advantages and disadvantages were described. In the experimental part methodology of data concentrator and electric meters was designed. In addition, extensive testing set according to capturing of DLMS communication, link quality influencing, reading registers of meters were realized. In the second experimental part limits of communications between broadband BPL modems were detected by the power line communication hardware channel emulator. Measurement of throughput, latency, frame loss passed off according to RCF 2544, RFC 6349 recommendation and according to the methodology of TCP Throughput In the last part, two laboratory exercises were created, first one deals with Smart Metering system and communication between the data concentrator and electric meters and the second one deals with communication among broadband BPL modems not only for Smart Metering purposes.
Software for control and management of home automation
Michálek, Jakub ; Blažek, Petr (referee) ; Musil, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis describes the development of an application for control and management of smart sockets at home. The first part describes the software that was used in creating this application. Specifically, the Qt application platform and the SQLite relational database system. The second part describes the structure and function of this application. The next part describes the application used to test the functionality of the created application and the designed communication protocol. The last part of the work describes the testing and evaluation of the created application.
Collection of Sensor Data into Cloud
Cycling Of Vrla Lead-Acid Batteries For Use In Uninterruptible Power Supplies And Measurement Of Failed Batteries
Musil, Petr
This article deals with study on the influence of cycling of batteries with regard to their parameters. Electro-chemical reactions which take part in battery cells are described. This paper also offers a measurement scheme for automated measuring workstation. Furthermore, results of measurements are being presented on measured parameters of chosen batteries. Comparison of the measurements results and datasheet values is included. Conclusion sums up parameters of chosen batteries and their feasibility for further usage in Uninterruptible Power Supply as a crucial part of critical infrastructure.
Application for early detection of transmission parameters degradation of microwave units
Bubniak, Milan ; Benedikt, Jan (referee) ; Musil, Petr (advisor)
Radio equipment of microwave links operating in an outdoor environment under the influence of weather conditions is at risk of a link failure or device defect occurrence, as well as their indoor units. This bachelor thesis aims to present the creation of a~network monitoring application capable of timely detection of potential failures, based on analyzing trends in monitored device parameters. The theory section deals with basic characteristics of microwave links and the structure of Simple Network Management Protocol. The practical section describes an application design, including core architecture, as well as a graphical user interface. Several failure detection methods are designed and described. In the next section, practice monitoring results are presended. Furthermore, network traffic and data storage requirements are measured. The conclusion summarizes the results of the application development and outlines it's future with new possible features.
Smart Home
Konstantinov, Glib ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with the analysis of intelligent devices and the possibilities of their usage in the household. Furthermore, the possibilities of using electricity from a photovoltaic power station and their comparison in terms of financial savings and efficiency of use are described. Moreover, in the theoretical part, a smart metering is described and methods of monitoring electricity consumption from classic electricity meters are presented. The practical part focuses on measuring the consumption of electricity by home appliances using a smart plug with the aim of their categorization, measuring the quality of electricity using a quality monitor MEg44PAN. The output of the bachelor thesis is the visualization of ways how intelligent elements can be implemented into existing buildings, smart homes and various combinations of appliances and resources.
