Power Line Communication - demonstration test bed
Jureková, Petra ; Fujdiak, Radek (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focused on data communication through electrical power grid - PLC Power Line Communication (PLC). It describes PLC communication, its present possibilities and two main types of transmission - broadband and narrowband, which are compared in detail. Major topic is an impact of noise on PLC signal and effect of growing distance on transmission efficiency. Within that is processed the analysis of distance and noise influence. Practical part of the thesis contains many types of measurements focusing especially on broadband modems. Measurements were performed both in the home and in the laboratory environment. The results show the effect of the distance and interference on the network throughput and the spectral power of the PLC signal. The RFC2544 methodology was also used for measurements.
Power line communication modelling in Network Simulator-3
Horák, Martin ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of data transmission over power lines, focusing on simulation transmission functions. The theoretical part summarizes basic information on PLC technology and distribution networks, followed by analysis PLC simulator implemented in NS-third In the practical part of the thesis is described implementation of individual types of underground and overhead lines to the PLC simulator. Also been carried simulation scenarios for a simple topology and were designed own simulation scenarios for extended topology and simulations have been carried out various kinds of interference on communication.
Power line channel simulator
Jedlička, Tomáš ; Fujdiak, Radek (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The master’s thesis is focused on the analysis and modeling of power line communication with aim to implement power line channel simulator in the programming environment Matlab. At the beginning of the thesis are summarized basic information about the PLC communication, its basic distribution in terms of frequency bands and are also mentioned advantages and disadvantages. The emphasis on the meaning and importance of modeling with the aim to analyze PLC communication channel is specified further. The following is a detailed description of the current power lines communication models. Power line channel simulator was created on the basis of mathematical analysis for low-voltage (LV) distribution networks. The created simulator uses a model of cascaded two-ports and works in random or fixed mode. Input parameters are real topologies, different types of loads and cables. RLC resonant circuit as a frequency selective impedance is also included in impedance models. Based on the obtained results was performed the analysis, determined the critical parameters and extreme values. Comparison of effectiveness of created simulator was processed on the basis of available simulators from other authors. Two versions of simulator were created using the results obtained under comparison of effectiveness. For comparison was also performed real measurement on a simple topology. The experimental measurements results have been implemented in the simulator.
Security design for system of remote quality measurement of electric power
Jakubíček, Michal ; Koutný, Martin (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis in the first chapter deals with the concept of quality of electric power and its parameters. The next chapter is focused on systems that used remote data collection and the current direction of evolution of these systems. The third of the thesis discusses the symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic systéme and their main representatives. The asymmetric system is described by the principle of calculating RSA and Diffie–Hellman. The next part deals with selected libraries that can count large numbers. Through the establishment of key using the Diffie–Hellman with these libraries. The evaluation of the used library in terms of speed, number of elementary cycles and memory consumption is inculded in the chapter 5. The last chapter explains the optimization focused on Ultra-Low Power MCU and shown Montgomery multiplication and squaring. It describes in detail the procedure of calculation and described why is his calculation faster than conventional modular multiplication and exponentiation. The appendix include installation instructions for the libraries BigDigits, GMP and OpenSSL in Visual Studio 2010.
UWB Automated Testing Tool
Charvát, Jan ; Juráň, Radovan (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the process of automating the testing of wireless locators. These devices use the UWB system, which is introduced in the theoretical part of this thesis. Furthermore, the topic of the testing process and the possibilities of its automation are discussed. The practical part of this thesis is devoted to the design and construction of an automated test fixture for UWB locators, both hardware and software part.
The computational possibilities of Android devices for localization
Brychta, Josef ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Fujdiak, Radek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with implementation of selected localization methods to Android devices. These methods were then measured and the results processed to optimization schemes.
Secure Communication in Embedded Systems
Rácek, Luboš ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Červenka, Vladimír (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis focuses on a design and analysis of protocol to provide secure communication using a hardware accelerator. The protocol will be designed with low power consumption and small computing power of a microcontroller. Asymetric cryptography will be taken into account in the design.
DLMS/COSEM load generator
Kohout, David ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (advisor)
This work is focused on Smart Metering, specifically the DLMS/COSEM specification. The paper describes most important parts of the standard and its application in smart grids. At first the DLMS protocol is examined. It is responsible for everything related in communication between clients and servers. Next described think is object model COSEM and its objects called OBIS. It shows how can we reference to these objects. In the second part – Traffic analyser are shown options of analysis of DLMS messages. This is after used for monitoring purposes. There is also described network topology including laboratory equipment. All devices were used for developing and testing the load generator of DLMS messages. App, which was created for this work is then described. The paper also assesses found problems in security and implementation of DLMS protocol.
Systems for remote measurement in power engineering

The work deals with the measurement and management in power. Provides an introduction to the problems of remote meter reading, management, and describes the current situation in the field of modern technologies Smart metering and Smart grids. It also analyzed the issue of collection of networks and data collection from a large number of meters over a wide area. For the purpose of data transmission are described GPRS, PLC, DSL, ... Further, there are given options to streamline communication. This area is used hierarchical aggregation. Using k-means algorithm is a program designed to calculate the number of concentrators and their location in the group of meters. The finished program is written in Java. It has a graphical interface and shows how the calculation is conducted. To verify the results of the optimization program is given simulation model in OPNET Modeler tool. Audited results are described in the conclusion and can deduce that using the optimization program is to streamline communications.
