Analysis of the FOREX - case of the exchange rate CZK/USD

In the first, theoretical part, the Forex is explained, along with its characteristics and basics of technical and fundamental analysis, followed by economic factors affecting the development of currency exchange rates. Second part of this paper, practical part, is developed as a series of experimental trading sessions using demo account. The trades are executed using mainly fundamental data supported by technical analysis. Final part of this thesis evaluates conducted trades and other features discovered during the tradings.
Monetary policy and exchange rate commitment of the Czech National Bank

The main goal of this thesis is to value the effect of the exchange rate policy of the Czech National Bank on the internal economy. In this case, exchange rate policy means the introduction of foreign exchange intervention, which was joined by the Czech National Bank in November 2013. In the theoretical part is the most attention paid to the foreign exchange market, foreign-exchange interventions, which are among the indirect monetary policy instruments. There are also described the functions and roles of the central bank. In the practical part of the thesis is an analysis of macroeconomic developments in the Czech Republic and other selected European countries. There is the comparation which allows to evaulate the realized exchange rate policy of the Czech National Bank. This part of the thesis are also discussed possibilities deadline for the completion of the exchange rate commitment and its form. The last chapter includes opinions of respected economists and organizations on exchange interventions.
Foreign direct investments and their impact on the Czech Republic

The theoretical part of the dissertation is dedicated to the balance of the payments as well as to the theory of the direct foreign investments with the linkage to new methodology of the balance of the payments. The determinants of the direct foreign investments are consequently introduced in the economic theory. The attention is to the higher extent dedicated to the industrial and territorial break-down. The incentive system and the Agency for the support of incoming direct foreign investments (CzechInvest) are described and introduced in the connection with the system functioning in Czech Republic. The incoming direct foreign investments in the period from 2004 to 2014 are analyzed in the second part of the dissertation. The time series were set up on the basis of the annual reports and the databases of Czech National Bank; the evolution phases of direct foreign payments is consequently analyzed with the regard to the respective industries and territories. The development of the direct foreign investments and their impacts on Czech Republic is assessed in the conclusion of the dissertation. It is concluded that the development of the incoming direct foreign investments is in a close correlation with the economic situation in Czech Republic and neighboring countries. The dissertation confirms that the economic and also non-economic factors of each country are key determinants for the final level of the incoming direct foreign investments.
Unemployment in Ústecký region

This diploma thesis investigates the topic of Unemployment in Ústecky region. Diploma thesis is divided into two parts and it is the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is dedicated to a definition of a labour market, economic models of a labour market, types and impacts unemployment and employment policy. The practical part includes charakteristics the Ustecky region and then defines supply in the labour market. Supply is defined through analyses of the demografic trends, structure of the unemployed labour force, risk groups, graduates and their unemployment. Demand on the labour market is defined by the bussinesses, major employers, major businesses and job structures.
Technical analysis of the developement of the currency pair GBP/USD

This diploma thesis deals with the technical analysis of the development of the currency pair GBP/USD. It is divided into theoretical and analytical part. The theoretical part is used to define the concepts of Forex market and the issue of exchange rates along with the trading terminology according to the relevant specialized literature and internet resources. There is characterized Forex and its subjects, described the main representatives of the kinds of technical indicators and basic graphic formations that can be commonly found in the charts. Analytical part focuses on the formulation of a business plan before the start of trading, as well as the detailed analysis of selected representatives of profitable and unprofitable transactions realized during the simulated trading on a demo account by Bossa FX for the period from October to December 2015. Afterwards there is tested the relation between the success of the realized transactions and used technical analysis tools. The result of the diploma thesis is the total retrospective evaluation of the simulated trading success rate. The output is the formulation of propositions and recommendations to help especially novice traders to make their trading as successful as possible.
External Economic Balance of the Visegrad Group Countries

The thesis deals with the development of external economical balance indicators of the Visegrad Group countries according to specifically selected indicators. In the theoretical part of the thesis the emphasis is put on the balance of payments and the changes connected to the difference in comparison between the new methodology and the previous methodology. The critical values of the selected indicators are also defined here. In the practical part are selected and evaluated the internal indicator and the degree of economical openness within the limits of external and internal economical connectedness. The main part focuses on the development of the balance of payments and analysis of a current account and a financial account. The current account part of the thesis focuses on the performance evaluation of the account and on the initial pension account. The financial account part of the thesis focuses on the direct foreign investments. There is also an assessment of the level of Central bank intervention to balance the balance of payments. The next part of the thesis deals with the level and the rate of growth of the gross external debt and the development of exchange rates. In the resume of the thesis is a comparison between the Visegrad Group countries based on previously mentioned characteristics.
Economic Performance of the V4 Group

This diploma thesis, which is named "Economic Performance of the V4 Group" deals with the analysis of the performance the Visegrad Group's economics and its following comparison. In the theoretical part of this thesis is in the first place defined comparative economics and system of the national accounts, where are defined the indicators of economic performance, too. This part of the thesis deals farther with the theory of economic cycle and economic growth. In the practical part of this thesis is in the first place characterized the Visegrad group. Subsequently are presented the members countries and performed analysis of their economic performance in the year 2005 - 2014 by the indicators which are gross domestic product, gross national income and human development index. The last chapter of the practical part concerns the comparison of the economic performance of the individual states and the results are summarized in the conclusion of this thesis.
Fiscal Policy and its Importance in Development of Economy

This diploma thesis deals with the theme of fiscal policy and its importance on Czech economy from 2005 to 2015. In some parts, according to data availability, the author is trying to bring the latest information from year 2016 and predict the development of the economy in the near future. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused more broadly on economic policy, formulates its wearers, determines its goals and tools, which are used for achieving the goals. It distinguishes between different types of economic policy. In the next chapter the phases, types and causes of the economic cycle are defined. The implementation of economic policies from two different points of view is also clarified. In the following chapter the author focuses on the main topic of fiscal policy and analogically defines its objectives, instruments and types. Subsequently, the budgetary system of the Czech Republic is analyzed. Separate chapter is devoted to the state budget. The main revenues, expenditures and overall balance are described. Lastly, the process of drawing up the state budget is explained in detail. The analytical part follows the development of macroeconomic indicators such as gross domestic product, inflation and unemployment in the Czech Republic in the previously mentioned period. Then the development and structure of revenues and expenditures of the state budget are analyzed. Based on the final balance, a resolution for the problematics of Czech state debt is solved. In each chapter of the practical part is an attempt to analyse fiscal policy and its importance on certain developments. The results are compared with selected countries of EU 28.
Importance of consumption in economy

The thesis is focused on consumption, which is the largest component of gross domestic product, as well as the most important macroeconomic indicator of economic performance. The theoretical part provides basic information on macroeconomic indicators (GDP, income, unemployment, inflation, interest rate) that affect consumption. Subsequently, the theory is discussed in two-sector model of consumption function, savings and benefits (cardinal and ordinal theory). The analytical part discusses selected macroeconomic indicators over time (GDP, interest rate, savings, wages), which are supplemented by a factor graph of growth or growth rate. Indicators are selected, such as the GDP and the minimum wage, and compared with the Federal Republic of Germany, the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic. Indicator of savings is then compared with the savings EU27. Subsequently statistics of family account is being dealt with based on a defined consumer basket and individual consumptions are accompanied by a chart that reflects the structure of issuance in percentage and average household expenditure per person per year.
