Waste prevention and effective waste management in the selected company

From reason of protection environment, under the pressure of not only administrative, but economic measures too are firms trying to minimise the amount of nascent waste. Therefor is thesis focused to the analysis of waste economy, production and composition of waste in the company WITTE Nejdek in period since 2010 to 2015. There is evaluated dependence the amount of waste similar to communal on number of employees in the company WITTE Nejdek. Was done landscaping survey, what was focused to possibilities of reducing amount of wastes, to quality of recycling waste and to availability of collecting points in the company areal. To evalaution of current dondition of recycling wastes in the company WITTE Nejdek was done survey with employees, what was focused on awareness and knowledge employees about recycling waste in WITTE Nejdek. In these are proposed concrete measures, what could improve recycling of waste and make changes helping to reduce amount of waste. Proposals are suitable not only in terms of prevention to waste production, but economically too.

Waste management Karlovy Vary Airport

This bachelor's thesis on the subject of Waste Management at Karlovy Vary Airport is divided into three main parts. The first part presents literary research that comprehensively describes the given issues from the perspectives of the valid waste management legislation of the Czech Republic, the European Union, and Karlovy Vary County. The waste streams of the Czech Republic are described, as well as the existing obligations of treating them.
The second part of this thesis focuses on summarising the available information about Karlovy Vary Airport and its waste management. With the help of statistic indicators, the development of waste management in the studied period of 2008 2015 is analysed. The analysis centres on communal and hazardous waste, as well as animal and plant by-products and their handling.
The last part of the thesis is partly theoretical, comparing the waste management of the studied territory with other international airports, and includes suggestions for improving waste management as the number of passengers increases.

Utilization of biogas plant for waste management

The thesis deals with the use of efficient processing of waste materials in agricultural production i order to obtain thermal and electric energy. The work describes basic terms of the technology of biogas plants - anarobic dry and wet fermentation, biogas, digestate, biomass and energy sources. The study also documented the formation and operation of agricultural biogas plant Bílov in Bohemia, describing the composition and quantity of input substrate and operating parameters. To evaluate the overall status and benefits of a biogas plant for the village was carried out a survey in the area of interest.

Sorting of waste at primary school

ABSTRACT
This thesis deals with the possibilities of municipal waste separation and the importance of education and awareness at the primary school level. The review part is generally focused on municipal waste issues, basic terms, methods of separation and recycling. In the next part there are the possibilities of elementary schools to participate in programmess with environmental topics, especially with the eventuality of systematic separation of waste within the classroom. It assesses the potential to create internal programmes and involvement in external ones. In the practical part the method of questionnaire survey at a primary school in Chodov near Karlovy Vary is employed. The research was applied there and it aims to determine the influence of education on the attitude of respondents, elementary school pupils. The comparison of the situation before and after completing the educational program of the company EKOKOM Tonda package on the road was carried out. The benefit is the analysis of pupils' awareness accomplished by the comparison of both questionnaires and specific verification of positive impact on the pupils approach to waste separation thanks to the awareness. One part of the thesis is to build an EVVO plan at the selected elementary school together with events focused on waste management.

The development of waste treatment and impact on quality of life for residents of the city of Hradec Králové

The purpose of thesis is to analyze waste management with focus on municipal waste, it is processing and it is recycling. This analysis is based on studies of specialist texts of Waste Management Plan of surrounding countries, WMP of Czech Republic in the period 2015-2024 and the WMP of time-frame 2016-2025 with prior evaluation of the WMP of a town. Then the thesis deals with waste management and treatment of municipal waste of Hradec Králové based on a field survey and consultations, it has documented equipment for treatment of municipal waste in the form of recycling plants, compost plant, secondary raw material collection centres, transfer stations, sorting lines and landfill. In the questionnaire-based survey for residents it identified their awareness, satisfaction with the system of collection, access to waste sorting and the distance to collection containers. Then the thesis deals with quality of life for residents in relation to waste management in Hradec Králové The thesis contains large numbers of processed graphs, tables, map reproductions in Arc GIS and the authors photo documentation of devises for waste management.

Separation of the municipal waste in the region Most

This thesis deals with the issue of waste recycling in the Czech Republic and the region of Ústí nad Labem, especially in the city of Most. The theoretical part describes a brief history of the waste management issue. Afterwards, I also focused on the current state of waste management, waste collection, transport, sorting and waste treatment. I described the current legislation in the Czech Republic, relating to the waste management, waste treatment requirements and options.
I collected data on waste recycling in the years 2009 - 2015 as well as costs and revenues in the waste management in the years 2011 - 2015 and finally the data were statistically evaluated. The contractual relations between the city of Most and other waste treatment organizations have been considered, the most important seems to be an outstanding cooperation with EKO - KOM. Since the partial aim of this study was to analyze the relationship of citizens to waste sorting, I conducted a survey among the citizens of the city of Most, which reflects their general knowledge in the field of waste management, especially waste sorting options in the city where they live.

Waste treatment and prevention in the KB-BLOK systém s.r.o

The bachelor thesis is focused on waste prevention in the company KB-BLOK s.r.o. where during the past 10 years by several technical changes in the production process, have been partly to prevent waste and significantly reduce the total volume of some wastes produced. The thesis captured the methods by which it was reached to reduce waste production, as well as statistics on the volume of waste production in the observed years and finally summarize and evaluate the benefits of the changes along with setting goals in other activities of the company.

Soil contamination by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from local heating

Polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are the pollutants of the environment. These dangerous chemical compounds are produced by man and its activities. The source of these pollutants are mainly burning of fossil fuels and biomass, as well as transportation and industrial production. From the literature they were obtained evidence regarding PAHs, their properties and group trends. For the main PAHs was found their relative genetic toxicity and was described mechanism of their effect on DNA. Based on the literature was compiled ranking of fuels with respect to the production of PAHs.
The monitoring of untouched area by industry and transportation. The sampling was done in the surroundings Bušanovice village located in Prachatice district. The samples were taken from surface soil horizon. Samples were taken in 2015 to various remote locations from the center of the village. These samples were analyzed by HPLC technique.
It was found that the largest source of contamination are local furnaces burning solid fuels such as wood and coal. The concentrations of PAHs in the samples was in the range of 0.24 to 19.21 mg / kg dm. These values are considerably higher than was expected and in the European scale concentrations correspond to large cities with heavy traffic or industrial areas.
