The place for new building is located on the corner of Bratislava - Stara. The proposed buildings are two multifunctional residential houses and one hostel. The Object connected with Stara Street offers 8 apartments 4 + kk. The central building with gallery has 12 apartments 1 + kk and 3 + kk. The ground floor is commercial space and facilities of residential home. In the ground floor of the hostel there is a cafe with a reception.

The Municipal Baths

ARCHITECTURE The centre and entrance point for atrection a relx is terace with pool, with corridor to cafe and skylights that leads to reception. Around this atrium, there is a ramp, rising up. New gallery of architecture and modern design. It's situated on the corner of Milady Horakove street and Koliště, which is a ring road. Its mass traditionally supplies the corner and its role supplies the cultural institutions on the ring road. My priority was to create a building with valuable interior space on the plot. The characteristic point of the building is a large roofed atrium, around which exhibition areas are located. Even within the atrium it is possible to exhibit - by hanging on the roof structure. Most light is coming from above into the building, so the windows on the facade are narrowest on the top and downwards they are expanding. In the building, there is some space for students and their activities - workshops and others, too.

It was one of main points of the project to design a viable building which would fit in the locality on the corner of Bratislavská and Stará street. Project of a polyfunctional but mainly residential object is a logical result. Shape of the building flows from two ideas: to close blank space on the corner but also to keep a part of place open, to be used as a public space which the locality lacks. That is why the height and front facade position links to both neighbouring objects. Yet on the corner, in front of the theatre, the building rises to height of two storeys so the corner stays free and usable as a public space.

The work deals with the possibility of creating a gallery exhibiting a wide range of exhibits. Given the current fragmentation and lack of quality urban space, I tried to keep the traditional way of making cities. Is a vacant lot on the corner of the block, which enclose three simple cuboidle bodies. The square between them forms a transition between everyday life on the streets and mysterious world of art. The internal character of the building is different which is not only reflected in the proportional division, but also the expressive aspect of perception from the street. Outlines of the block is compact and helps create a tight urban structure. Shape and distribution of all materials are simple and clearly legible spaces inside. Which visitor is not disturbed and you can enjoy the uniqueness of art in full force.
