The United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child in the case of refugee children

This Bachelor thesis addresses the issue of the basic human rights of Refugee Children guaranteed to every child by UN Convention on the Rights of the Child adopted in 1989. The thesis describes the processes and situations in which a Refugee Child who is accompanied by family members or who is an Unaccompanied Minor goes through during the proceeding of International Protection in the European countries. The thesis focuses only on the articles of Convention that are applicable to crucial problems in the current situation of Refugee Children.
How are the interactions between a father and his child altered by the imprisonment of the father

(in English): Imprisonment does not have a direct impact just on the person who committed the crime it also affects the life of the people close them, especially if the perpetrator is also the parent. This work is aimed to determine how imprisonment affects the interaction between children and incarcerated parents, their fathers. Changes in interaction are explored in contact, mutual communication, parenting roles and relationship between the child and the imprisoned parent. The research, which brings the data obtained using questionnaires and interviews with persons in custody, is based on information provided primarily by foreign experts.
Proposal of a system of further education of social workers in direct contact with seniors in the houses of seniors

This thesis deals with the issue of the further education of social workers who work in homes for the elderly in direct care with this target group. The aim of the work which is based on the results arising from the interviews and questionnaire is to design the content of further training for this specific group of social workers so that their real needs would be accepted. The work is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The content of the theoretical part is familiarising with the most commonly used theories in social work with the elderly in the facilities of social services, marginally, it is describing the social service system for the elderly in the Czech Republic, including the role of social workers in it and the importance of the training of social workers. The practical part presents the methods and results of the data analysis, research and the design of the content of continuing education of social workers.
Intergenerational issues in kinship foster care

The bachelor thesis deals with the problems of kinship foster care. Kinship foster care is a form of foster care, in which a child is being raised by its relative. This form has undoubtedly many benefits, but it also brings out many difficulties. My thesis focuses on potential problems in kinship foster care. It discusses intergenerational issues in kinship foster care, where the child is being raised by his grandparents. The objective of this thesis is to determine, what are the intergenerational problems and to emphasize the differences between foster care and kinship foster care. Position of low-threshold institution for children and youth in Child protection - options and limits

The thesis focuses on the role of Low-threshold institutions for children and youth (NZDM) in the system of social- legal Child protection, their significance, possibilities and cooperation with other subjects, namely with Department of Social and Legal Protection for Children (OSPOD). The theoretical part defines what the social and legal protection for children is responsible for, how the cooperation between individual subjects work and what notification and information obligations are the subjects bound to fulfil. Attention is also paid to the tasks of OSPOD, NZDM and the role of entrusted persons in the system. The practical part is focused on three main topics. 1) Do the NZDMs have an authorisation to perform social and legal protection of children (and advantages and disadvantages associated with it)? 2) What is the role of NZDM in the system of Child protection (With what clients they work? How can NZDMs help their clients? And do they cooperate with other subjects)? 3) How does the cooperation with OSPOD works?The qualitative (interviews) as well as quantitative (questionnaires) methods have been used during the research.
Housing market and Risk of Homelessness in the Czech republic

Martina Mikeszová : PHD DISSERTATION - HOUSING MARKET AND RISK OF HOMELESSNESS IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC. ABSTRACT The PhD dissertation focuses on the theme of loss of permanent housing together with the problematic of housing affordability in the Czech Republic. In the first part, the objective is to identify the types of households potentially at risk of being unable to afford housing since 2000, and to trace the development of regional differences in the percentage of at-risk households in the Czech Republic. In the regard to the end of deregulation process in recent years, the analysis of housing (un)affordability of "market" rent housing shows the possible social consequences of the process. Owing to the absence of useful aggregate data on incomes and expenditures for different household types in the regions of the Czech Republic, the alternative data sources and the simulation methodology for measuring housing affordability which combines available regional wage statistics and data on market rents were used. The results indicate that the general risk of being unable to afford rental housing and regional differences in housing affordability are both decreasing. The thesis is focused on the experience of 6th and 9th elementary school classes with risk behavior in Dvůr Králové nad Labem. The theoretical part defines terms related to adolescence, risk behavior and prevention. This part also deals with procedures in the occurence of the risk behavior in elementary school. The practical part presents the results of own empirical investigation and bears the signs of a quantitative research. The aim of the research was to determine to which extent second grades students in Dvůr Králové nad Labem have personal experience in the risk behavior. The method of data collection tool was a questionnaire. The results of the research will be beneficial in the prevention of risk behavior in primary schools in Dvůr Králové nad Labem.
Anonymous child abandonment in the Czech Republic

In the theoretical part the student aims to map the situation of leaving children anonymously in the Czech Republic in comparison with selected countries in Europe, the history of this phenomenon, the current situation and possible insights into the future. Anonymous leaving of children is studied from several perspectives, in terms of legal, psychological, medical and mainly social point of view. In the empirical part the method of inquiry, namely the interview technique is used. For this purpose experts on the specific areas were interviewed - lawyers, psychologists, doctors and social workers. Comparison of social and legal situation of unaccompanied minors in the Czech Republic and Austria

The theme of the work is to compare social and legal situation of unaccompanied minors (UAMs) from third countries, who find themselves in the territory of the Czech Republic and Austria, and these countries have subsequently provided them care and protection. Work aims to describe the history of the system of care, possible types of residence of these children, conditions of their security and identifying of their age in the two above-mentioned countries. Emphasis is also on the system of care, involving social and legal protection, housing, custody area, education, health care, as well as the search for durable solutions in the area of residence, the family reunification and reintegration. Then, I will try by using analysis to compare what these various aspects of their social and legal situation differ in, what they are identical in or which country better respects the so-called "appropriate procedures of Separated Children in Europe Programme ". I would also like to point out some deficiencies in the system or vice versa examples of good practice in both countries.
