The steam generator for ESFR reactor
Bátěk, David ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Šen, Hugo (advisor)
This master thesis deals steam generator for ESFR (European Sodium Fast Reactor), which is heated by liquid sodium. In the beginning chapters, there are theoretic information about ESFR's parameters and its' comparison with ohter types of heat exchangers in nuclear reactors with the same principal (sodium as a coolant). Then designing part follows, which contents of introduction of calculations, option of material and conception of heater. Computational part on its own includes thermal, hydraulic and stress calculations and comparison with aspects in nuclear safety and security.
Fuel elements thermal field analysis
Vacek, Jiří ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Šen, Hugo (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to describe calculation procedures of fuel element thermal field analysis. The next is VVER-440 fuel element solution for selected operating conditions. These solutions are also made numerically with ANSYS. The importance of each effect on solution is assessed in thesis. The possibilities of some simplifications are also assessed.
Wind power plant in a chosen locality
Dohnal, Petr ; Škorpík, Jiří (referee) ; Martinec, Jiří (advisor)
This master thesis deals with problematic wind power plants. There are described advantages and disadvantages of wind power plants and their environmental impacts. Thesis include chosen locality for wind power plant, chosen fitting types of turbines and calculation which choosing turbine for chosen locality. There are accomplished parametric studies of main parameters. From this study is chosen best fitting model of wind turbine. In the end are adduced statistics from Czech Republic, Europe and world.
Character of nuclear energy in European Union - history and present
Koryčanský, Roman ; Šen, Hugo (referee) ; Martinec, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with the development and current status of nuclear energy in Europe. The first part focuses on the legislative background in the EU – The Euratom treaty. Next, the thesis describes the history of European companies that are engaged in nuclear energy, in particular the French company AREVA. The largest part of the thesis deals with the relationship of nuclear energy and public opinion, and focuses on the status of nuclear energy in selected countries and the attitudes of environmental organizations. This section also includes a description of the history of the most serious accidents. The conclusion focuses on the economic aspects of nuclear energy and its future.
The flange gasket modification of SG VVER 1000 primary collector
Pransperger, Jan ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Šen, Hugo (advisor)
This thesis deals with the replacement of the lid gasket of the primary collector of the steam generator VVER 1000. Original sealing by nickel rings is replaced by kammprofile gasket with expanded graphite layers. The thesis compare the properties of both types of gaskets and the new and the original configuration of flange joint which have been calculated according to EN 1591. The results are compared and conclusions arising therefrom are presented. The work includes results of FEM analysis of the new configuration of the flange joint. There is also a description of the main components of the nuclear power plants VVER 1000 primary circuit in the introductory part which focused on the construction and operation of the steam generator and its primary collector.
Equipment for the enrichment of nuclear fuel
Ostrezi, Matěj ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Suk, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to review the current knowledge and possibilities dealing with an enrichment of the nuclear fuel and to describe particular methods of the enrichment. An attention is paid to basic principles, functions, technological and power requirements and efficiency of the discussed methods. In conclusion, a difficulty of the enrichment process is pointed out and a balance sheet of the economic impact is made.
Removal of oil aerosol from the exhaust air in a production hall with automatic machine tools
Štefánek, Stanislav ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the filtration of air contaminated with oil and the total efficiency and propose a new filtration system. The reason is insufficient capacity and functionality of the operating device is incorrect. It will propose the most appropriate solution to this in terms of economic and technical design is satisfactory.
Steam Generators of PWR
Michalica, Martin ; Martinec, Jiří (referee) ; Suk, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelors thesis describes various designs of steam generators. The first part of the thesis describes the beginning of the nuclear industry in Russia. The main part deals with individual design solutions. The last chapter describes in detail the various parts of the steam generator VVER 1000. The work includes creation of a 3D model of the steam generator VVER 1000, which will serve as a teaching aid in the project Cenelín.
The diverse system for heat transfer from the active zone
Lamoš, Pavel ; Suk, Ladislav (referee) ; Martinec, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on diverse system for heat transfer from the active zone of the nuclear power plant Temelín. This result is output of stress tests. These stress tests were resulted as a necessary output from the nuclear accident at Fukushima - Daiichi, in order to improve nuclear safety. The outcomes of stress tests of nuclear power plants in Czech Republic are mentioned in next section of the thesis. Part of the safety systems of nuclear power plant Temelín is described in the next section. Next section is focused on the diverse system. In the end of the thesis is final energy balance between a steam generator and an amount of coolant in case that the diverse system for heat transfer from the active zone would be used.
Hydrogen: energy storage for the future
Studýnka, Radim ; Škvařil, Jan (referee) ; Martinec, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this work was to characterize the hydrogen as energy reservoir, to characterize the ways of its storage, to describe its position in possible future scheme of energy sources and to name energy sources, which can be used to produce it. Another objective was the characterization of the current state of the used energy sources. In the opening part is described the current state of energy sources, the characterisation of the hydrogen follows together with description of its possible future status. In the next parts are described production, storage and use of hydrogen. In the near future can be expected, that the hydrogen will be produced from fossil fuels at the beginning, especially due to their availability, and they could be replaced after some time by alternative sources of energy. One of these sources could be nuclear power. Storage of hydrogen in the liquid and gaseous state is currently the most widely method especially due to relatively well known technology. Metal hydrides and porous materials could become common storage medium of the hydrogen in the case of mastering their technology. The hydrogen can be used in stationary applications for cogeneration units, which produce heat and electricity. It can be also used in mobile applications for drive vehicles, which use hydrogen engines or hydrogen fuel cells.
