The article presents an overview of the development and current state of research on political parties in Central and Eastern Europe and the level of integration so far achieved within the broader European political research community. Following this short overview the authors identify "blank spaces" in research on political parties in Central Europe and relevant topics for future research projects.

Relationship of the Chamber of Deputies and Senat

The proceedings contain five contributions presented at the workshop with the same name. The workshop was organised in the Senate in Prague by the Sociology in Politics team. The research group has been conducting surveys in the parliament regularly, using standardised interview forms In the fourth stage of the survey, there were presented questions related to the relationship of the two chambers. The workshop offered an opportunity to present findings to wider expert public.

The paper deals with the opportunities for and barriers to social dialogue in the Czech Republic. It stresses the importance of the role that social partnership and its institutionalised form – the tripartite Council of Economic and Social Agreement (RHSD) – occupied in the transformation processes.
