Viewer of a vector map of the Czech Republic for mobile phones supporing Java
Stach, David ; Machek, Pavel (advisor) ; Peterek, Nino (referee)
The bachelor thesis is focused on creating of aplication for mobile phones, which provides to view map of the Czech Republic represented by vector data. Creation of vector data is not a part of this thesis, aplication uses already finished map. Processing of vector data and displaying of them is main point of thesis. Aplication has to use algorithms, which will enable fast work with map despite of limited sources of unit.
Navigation system for vehicles
Dobiaš, Martin ; Machek, Pavel (advisor) ; Mareš, Martin (referee)
First part of the work is devoted to preparation of environment for building a navigation software. For map rendering and other geospatial data manipulation we use libraries of Quantum GIS. The work comprised also library refactoring and creation of bindings for Python language, that's also the language used for development of the navigation system. Second part presents principles and implementation of navigation in a roadmap. Software searches for an optimal route based on given start and destination. It takes in account different road types, one-way streets, turn restrictions and/or other restrictions. In case a GPS receiver is connected to the computer, it displays navigation hints based on current position of the vehicle.
An E-mail Client for J2ME Devices
Štefan, Martin ; Novák, Václav (advisor) ; Machek, Pavel (referee)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create an application for mobile devices supporting J2ME technology, that is intended for sending and retrieving email messages. Program is able to communicate with remote servers over POP3 and SMTP protocols either by socket, or by HTTP connection. The application can can also send a multipart messages. The attachmets for outgoing messages (audio, image and small video) can be loaded from the device's filesystem as well as those for incoming messages that can be saved there. There is a remote server application operating appropriate HTTP queries as a part of the work. Email addresses for the Recipient field can be loaded from the internal contact list. There can be more than one email account set.
Removal of noise from digital photos
Hošek, Lukáš ; Machek, Pavel (advisor) ; Beneš, Miroslav (referee)
The goal of this work is to study and implement most frequently used algorithms for noise filtering. The results should be tools for: filtering additive noise - study and implement at least two nontrivial algorithms; removal of image defects caused by defective pixels on image sensors ("hot pixels").
E-mail client for J2ME devices
Nguyen, Son Tung ; Machek, Pavel (advisor) ; Kosina, Jiří (referee)
The aim of the project is to create a optimized client for using on mobile J2ME devices capable of work with emails. Both POP3 and iMAP servers will be supported to retrieve mails. SMTP protocol will be used for sending emails. The client will also support MIME type attachments and display basic supported formats like: txt, jpg, png and other multimedia formats that are supported by user's mobile device. Standard mail boxes like Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, Trash... will be supported as well. Emails can be ordered by various user's criterias : by subjects, date, size and senders or recipients. The program will support many email accounts. Automatic new emails checking. Operations that take longer time can be halted and whose progress will be displayed. Inteligent T9-like addressbook.
Communication software for cellular phones
Kontsek, Martin ; Machek, Pavel (advisor) ; Kosina, Jiří (referee)
The goal of this project is to write a program for mobile phones that will be able to create a network out of surrounding mobile phone by using the Bluetooth Protocol. It will be able to send media like text, audio, images and video (for those phones that support it). The program will also be capable of sending these media through the Jabber Protocol by using Uuencode/Uudecode. The program will be written in Java 2 Micro Edition a will be an add-on to an existing program "Mobber", in which the Jabber Protocol is already implemented.
