Distributed optical fiber sensors
Hynek, Jiří ; Šifta, Radim (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
Nowdays, optical fibers are one of important parts of computer networks, especially for their ability to transfer information for long distance. This thesis doesn´t utilize optical fibers as carriers, but as sources of information, specifically as sensors intended to detect physical effects acting on the optical fiber, which is usually used for telecommunication purposes. Linear and nonlinear properties of the fiber are used to gain information about acting effects on the optical fiber.
Measurements in an 802.11n radio network with hidden nodes
Vágner, Adam ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
The current large concentration of wireless networks brings new horizons, but also new concerns. Failure to follow basic rules may produce far-reaching problems that could make more wrinkles to all affected managers and administrators. The aim of this thesis was to measure and compare the radio parameters of selected products and how they behave in neighboring interference and the speed they have while there are hidden nodes. The resulting values were measured in the laboratory network Wificolab and compared with the various support protocols. Possible effects on the specific situation are also analyzed in this thesis.

Winkler, Aleš ; Reichert, Pavel (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
The main subject of this diploma thesis is to make a proposal to improve the optical access network for the transmission of Triple play services. I would here to the reader clarify method of proposal of optical network. There are described the kinds of optical access networks with parameters, for which we must look by their construction. There are described the modern methods of construction optical network too. In the theoretical part are discussed used architecture of networks too. I met here known standards, which I compared for big importance by their choice. A reason of construction of optical network are services known like Triple play. These services together with their problems and parameters are here discussed too. At the end of theoretical part I listed here measuring method for getting negative attribute distorting the led signal. In practical part the locality witch use the optical signal as the source of information is ordered. These network use unfit connections and has less possibilities than usual and this is the reason, why is the network not able to supply Triple play in requested quality. At first the analysis of ordered network was needed. Situation was complicated by the fact, that it has been prohibited entrance to me. The structure of network and network parts was known and documented by me. I made the proposals to improve this network in practical part. By the first proposal remained original kind of access network FTTB, but used new parts with higher performance. By the second proposal I made the network FTTH, by which it was possible to use the last haul optical cables with treatment and using new elements. It was needed to create solution by flat units. The resulting proposals are here evaluated, compared and cost evaluated. For rejection of access to optical network I did not make measuring, so I made simulation for variant FTTH for getting some parameters negative acting transmission.

Media Converters and Optical Switches
Branč, Martin ; Reichert, Pavel (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
This Master´s thesis provides an overview of wired networks, its parameters, used standards and the deployment possibilities. Moreover, it includes the overall overview about optical networks, its parameters, maximum bandwidth, reachable distances as well as the advantages and disadvantages in comparition with wired networks. The project describes network elements which are used in the optical access network such as media convertors, optical switches etc. The practical part includes results of testing of the network devices in various scenarios. To get a comparable result, the real throughput, the power of each device and compatibility of devices from different producers were measured. At the end I have suggested few scenarios with the usage of optical switches and media convertors for extension of the current optical network. The calculation of costs for building and operation of the network is also included.
Design of passive optical network
Žák, Ondřej ; Münster, Petr (referee) ; Reichert, Pavel (advisor)
Diploma thesis is dealing with access networks, especially with the passive optical network. The theoretical part is a list of different types of passive optical access networks, including theirs basic description, which then goes on to feature connectivity options for optical units, customers, including topology of distribution network. Analysis of different types of networks and the possibility of physical and logical design is the basis for successful design and prepa-ration of future optical access networks. Practical part is devoting to data analysis of measurement existing metropolitan network to be used for construction of optical access network in Brno, Ţlutý kopec – Preslova location. Data evaluation showed possibility of connecting with already installed network hence is created proposal of optical access network mentioned before. Selected location is analysed in detail and illustrated on situational scheme of location and customers, whose will be passive split-ters to central office. Consequently is developed project of optical access network based on data analysed date from measurements. Project is study and description of planned solution of optical access network in order to bring Triple Play services to customers. Within the interpretation of the feasibility of the project and verification physical layer pa-rameters of network was made a simulation in OptiSystem. The possibility of successful op-eration of the optical access network with the attributes entered in its design is approved in accordance with the evaluation results. The proposed network is passive in character of GPON standard, and the text describes in detail physical layer, proposed transmission speed, wave and attenuation plan of optical net-work. Design of FTTx optical access network
Münster, Petr ; Tejkal, Vladimír (referee) ; Reichert, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this work is an overview of the proposal for FTTx Optical Access Networks. In the introductory chapter written about the optical fiber and the transmission. Furthermore, as already discussed various options with regard to the implementation instead of the end of optical fiber - FTTN, FTTC, FTTP, FTTB, FTTH and standards, which are used to build fiber optic networks. The next chapter is an overview of the network elements that are in different layers reference model ISO / OSI used. The final theoretical chapter is devoted to progressive technologies for the construction of optical access networks, which has recently been used. Concepts are explained as HDPE pipe, microtubing or self-supporting cables. The practical part design model, passive optical networks in the area Slavičín, located in the Zlín region. FTTB architecture was chosen, where for each connection object is used in the existing copper lines. The proposed route will use a standard technology GEPON Wavelength division WDM, so to connect the individual buildings will be used only one thread. Realization of optical networking technology will be excavation. The optical cables and optical fiber bundles are protected by HDPE pipes stored in the bed of sand. For the optical signal split into multiple lines will be used by an optical splitter 1 / 16, located in an outdoor cabinet optic pathway. The distribution of signals for the settlement will take care Alloptic central station, which is optimized for the transmission of Triple Play services. On the basis of the proposal is to created a financial analysis that shows the return on the project. An important part of the network is also monitoring the network. The last part of this work therefore deals with the possibilities of monitoring networks in order to continuously monitor the network, in order to prevent any disturbances or quickly respond to network problems.
