A comparison of orthodox and Arian depicting of christ in the late antigue iconography
Šprta, Marian ; Lášek, Jan Blahoslav (advisor) ; Hrdlička, Jaroslav (referee)
This work has a difficult task to try to summarise the difference between the orthodox and Arian iconographic concept of depicting Christ, mainly in late antiquity. The issue is taken from the point of systematic theology, ecclesial history and the history of art. The memory of Arianism, as the most widespread form of heresy, was a real threat for the church in the 3 rd century and therefore was almost fully eradicated. Arianism was met with the usual punishment of bad roman emperors - damnatio memoriae. It was be forgotten forever. So, all we know is taken from Arianism's opponents, orthodox Catholic historians and scholars. This concerns theological works as well as visual art works. When we study the theological background of this form of heresy, we see Jesus Christ as the first, the highest and the noblest creation of all, but as nothing more. God the Father, the only one, according to Arius, a presbyter from Alexandria, the founder of Arianism, is completely independent. He can not to have any Son. He cannot even be the Father. On principle God the Father is different from Jesus Christ the Son. The next progression in Arianism stated that the Son and the Father are alike. Arius's main opponent Athanasius, later orthodox bishop of Alexandria, insisted on the full godliness of Jesus Christ as the Son of...

Straková, Katarína ; Veverková, Kamila (advisor) ; Lášek, Jan Blahoslav (referee)
Diploma thesis "Female Overseers and Doctors in the Concentration and Extermination Camps of Nazi Germany" deals with life and deeds of these women before and during World War 2. In my thesis I would therefore like to address the possible causes of the Holocaust, I want to think about how we can from the relatively recent past World War 2 learn, or whether there are any options to prevent similar incidents. It will try to hold on to the role of women in the extermination camps, which were the main venue of the program extermination of Jews and other minorities. I will focus on the phenomenon of "bad women" in the death camps, thus nazi women or female doctors. I would like this type of women looked at from a sociological point of view. If possible, a description of their origin, family background, education, interpersonal relationships, behavior in the camp and the like. It is clear that there are more reasons why some individuals become a cruel figure. Of course, some tendencies to violence inside each and every one must be encoded. I believe, however, that the main role is played by education, whether at home or at school.

Krejčí, Květoslav ; Hejbal, Dušan (advisor) ; Lášek, Jan Blahoslav (referee)
The thesis deals with the significance of the Holy Scriptures and their interpretation in the theology of Old Catholicism. In analysing this connection it briefly sketches the main characteristics of Old Catholic theology. The thesis describes the fundamental elements of God's revelation in history and the main sources of testimony of such revelation. It addresses selected scriptural references to non-written tradition as well as the most significant conclusions of Church councils of the undivided Church which relate to the relationship of the Scripture, the tradition and the authority of the Church's teaching. The thesis further describes the characteristic elements in the thinking of the Church Fathers with regard to the topic in question. It also covers further development in the Western church after 1054, dealing with the contributions of the Council of Trent and the I. Vatican council. A separate chapter deals with the Anglican view. Attention is paid to the history and the contents of the dogmatic constitution Dei Verbum adopted at the II. Vatican council. In the light of the ecumenical dialogues, the thesis describes the specific Old Catholic contribution to the discussion. The conclusion summarises both identical elements and differences in comparison with the concept in Roman Catholic theology.
