Principles of open and closed kinematic chains and their usage in rehabilitation
Hájek, Jiří ; Kučerová, Klára (advisor) ; Kurková, Simona (referee)
Bakalářská práce Princip otevřených a uzavřených kinematických řetězců a jeho využití v praxi 7 Abstract The terms open (OKC) and closed (CKC) kinematic (kinetic - OKIC and CKIC) chain are very often used in physiotherapy. However, this view has a problem in defining the chains. In theoretical part, we focused on definitions according to individual authors, publications and studies that mention the terms. Because the terms OKC and CKC are perceived very differently in the literature and many authors have adapted them to their image. Based on the acquired knowledge, we find the view of the kinematic chains to be insufficient, inconsistent and thus confusing. In the work, we focused on processing as many resources as possible with the given issue. In the practical part, we used a structured questionnaire focused on therapists in clinical practice. We asked how they use the terms OKC and CKC (resp. OKIC and CKIC) and what experience do they have with the terms in their clinical practice. The aim was to find out: to description of which situations are these terms used for and how the terms are used in different kinesiological situations. To what extent are they used in accordance with the definitions or to what extent they differ from them. Based on the results of the questionnaire and the mentioned literature...

Kurková, Simona ; Machač, Stanislav (advisor) ; Mezian, Kamal (referee)
Bibliographical record: KURKOVÁ, Simona. Sonographic evaluation of sciatic nerve in individuals with radicular symptoms S1, Charles University, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine, 2019, p. 99, Thesis Supervisor: Mgr. Stanislav Machač Ph.D. Abstract The thesis deals with radicular symptomatics S1 and sonographic imaging and evaluation of sciatic nerve in individuals with unilateral radicular manifestation. The theoretical part describes anatomy and biomechanics of nerve structures, radicular syndrome and its clinical image, diagnostics and treatment. The theory also includes the less known extraspinal causes manifesting themselves as radicular syndrome, the effects of which may be equally important in differential diagnosis. It describes classical and new possibilities of nerve imaging with emphasis on sonography and approach of new procedures such as MRI tractography. In the practical part, the aim of the thesis is to evaluate morphological changes of sciatic nerve in patients with unilateral symptomatic S1 by sonographic imaging of the nerve during its course, from the subgluteal groove to the popliteal groove. It also examines the relationship between the pathophysiology and symptomatology of these patients, comparing whether changes in nerve size correlate with...
Comparison of mortality in the Czech Republic and in other EU countries
Kůrková, Simona ; Fiala, Tomáš (advisor) ; Vrabcová, Jana (referee)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the developement of mortality in the Czech reublic and compare it with mortality in the other EU countries in years 1960-2014. This thesis includes detailed description of basic terms calculation of mortality rates. Selected EU countries are divided into units, i.e. Notrh, South, West and East. Analysis of this thesis was based on infant mortality and life expectancy. The developement of each mortality indiacator is ilustrated by number of graphs, which were created from the Human Mortality database on available datas. Infant mortality in the Czech Republic and other EU countries is examined for both gender in the time series 1960-1990 and 1990-2014. Subsequently the thesis analyses life expectancy at birth and at ages of 25 and 65 years for women and men separately. There is also analysis of life expectancy annual increase at birth and at ages of 25 and 65 years for women and men, based on linear regression function in the time of 1960-1990 and 2000-2014. The aim of bachelor thesis is to compare individual mortality indicators among selected states.
