Multiresidual methods for the determination of pesticides in waters
Matušková, Monika ; Kubíčková, Kristýna (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (advisor)
This bachelor´s work of theoretical character deals with multiresidual determination of pesticides in water. It is especially focused on pesticides generating residues in surface water, which - due to their toxicity and persistence in environment - require goal-directed monitoring. The division of pesticides is stated, and their properties, toxicity and elimination process are described in the work. Furthermore, possibilities of analytical determination, especially the methods of gas and liquid chromatography are introduced here. In the last chapter, the complete analytic procedure for determination of organochlorine pesticides is described.
Ceremoniousness connected with birth of a child in Pelhřimov distrikt. The Role of the Midwife from the viewpoint of etnology.
Kubíčková, Kristýna ; Krupková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Štěpánová, Irena (referee)
The main theme of this bachelor's thesis is ceremoniousness, which is connected with the birth of a child in Pelhřimov district in the 2nd half of the 19 and the beginning of the 20 century. The second part of the thesis is primarily devoted to related ceremonial acts. The individual chapters are focused on conception of pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium in the folk environment. This very intimate and rarely mapped area of family ceremoniousness is thus seen by means of period literature, articles, archive matters, records and registers. Considering the fact that midwives used to be the principal performers of ceremonial acts connected with the birth of a child the first part of the thesis concetrates on the midwifery issues. It deals with midwives education, their competences and collegial relationships.
The role of oxidative stress in hepatocarcinogenesis.
Kubíčková, Kristýna ; Vítek, Libor (advisor) ; Zelenka, Jaroslav (referee) ; Fraňková, Soňa (referee)
This thesis focuses on the importance of heme catabolic pathway in hepatic carcinogenesis. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary malignant liver tumour. It is primarily caused by hepatic cirrhosis or chronic viral hepatitis. Hepatic carcinogenesis is associated with increased oxidative stress. Thus, our study aimed to assess the expression of the genes involved in the homeostasis of oxidative stress in patients with HCC. The study was performed on patients with primary HCC (n = 29) and control subjects (n = 11), gene expressions of heme oxygenase 1 (HMOX1), biliverdin reductase A/B (BLVRA/B), endothelial growth factor (VEGFA), NADPH oxidase 2 (NOX2) and p22phox were analyzed in the liver tissue; the identical gene expressions were analyzed in peripheral blood leukocytes (PBL) in HCC patients (n = 32) and in healthy controls (n = 27). Expression of BLVRA in liver tissue and PBL was significantly increased in cancer patients, as was NOX2 expression in PBL. Expression of VEGFA in liver tissue and PBL was significantly decreased in cancer patients. The expression of the other genes studied did not differ between HCC patients and controls. These data are consistent with the results of our previous study on patients with chronic hepatitis C, in which BLVRA expression was also...

Further is described the local multiplier and its use. The research includes a brief assessment of the situation of sales of local food in Pilsen and in particular, the calculations of local multiplier of farm shop in Pilsen. Furthermore this method and the results are evaluated. The thesis is combination of social and cultural ecology and Keynesianism with emphasis on the concept of the multiplier. Firstly, the aim is to calculate the value of the local multiplier and also evaluate the use of this tool. Since assuming positive influence of the farm shop on the local economy, the result of the indicator could be another argument for strengthening efforts in promoting local food and localization.
