Education of patients with lymphoma
Marková, Naďa ; Kordulová, Pavla (advisor) ; Jankovcová, Kateřina (referee)
(v AJ) I chose the education of a patient with lymphoma as the topic for my bachelor thesis. I consider this topic very actual because the occurence of lymphoma is increasing (In: Linkos,2019). Lymphomas are referred as lymphocyte-derived tumors. I deal with the problem of lymphomas in the theoretical part. I mainly focus at diagnostic and treatment. I had started to prepare this bachelor thesis after the background research in the National Medical Library. I also drew the information from databases: BMČ, PubMed, EBSCOhost a Medline. I also used treatment recommendations - Cooperative Lymphoma Groups. Methology: I chose a case study of a patient with B-cell lymphoma from large cells, diffuse. I used the model of Marjora Gordon's - functional health model. A specific case is used for defining the treatment procedures, nursing standards, potentional risks and the prevention, education is also included. Objective: Focus on a nursing care - pacient with B-cell lymphoma diagnose, large cells, diffuse, who undergone chemotherapy. Results: Keeping nursing procedures and creation of educational material for patients. Conclusion: There are new methods of chemotherapy and new studies. A current study in Lymphoma: CITADEL 203, CITADEL 205, PCYC 1143 - SYMPATICO, ACELY - 308, PCYC 1141, BGB3311 - 212, IELSG37...
Nursing procedures at complicated peritonitis
Pokorná, Lenka ; Kordulová, Pavla (advisor) ; Hocková, Jana (referee)
(v AJ) For my diploma thesis I chose Nursing care for patients with complicated peritonitis as a topic, because care for these patients must be complex and often requires long-term stay at the anesthesiology and resuscitation department. These patients require organ support, undergo repeated surgical revisions, and ultimately, if they overcome this critical period, they learn very often self- care, walking, and sometimes adapt to permanent changes in health. It is a disease where there are often sudden changes in the patient's condition. In the theoretical part I tried to describe the disease leading to the development of peritonitis and complications in the form of septic shock and multiorgan failure. In the National Medical Library, I have searched for a comprehensive review of literature since 2005. I searched for keywords and phrases: Peritonitis, Nursing Care, Sepsis, Multiorgan Failure, Circulatory Support, Artificial Pulmonary Ventilation, Continuous Function Replacement kidney care, laparotomy care, drainage care, intra-abdominal hypertension. I obtained other documents using the central search engine UKAŽ, I drew from licensed databases: Bibliographia medica Čechoslovaca, Ebsco, Medline, Pubmed. For the processing of nursing procedures I used the recommendations of professional societies:...
Communication and interaction of medical personnel with patient's family in the intensive care unit
Šimůnková, Kateřina ; Dvořáčková, Ivana (advisor) ; Kordulová, Pavla (referee)
Introduction: Communication with relatives of critically ill patients is a rather neglected area in the Czech Republic. Intensive care focuses more on the patient, equipment and highly specialized treatment while contact with relatives is often minimized. Moreover, the conversation consists mainly of brief statements related to the current health status of the patient. It is important to pay more attention to this issue, especially so that the medical staff can offer the patient's family the best possible help in their difficult life situation. Objectives and Methodology: The aim of this thesis was to map the professional preparedness of general nurses and doctors in the areas of communication with the patient's family. Next, the thesis also attempted to determine the attitude of the medical staff to the families of patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit. Furthermore, it also aspired to map the experience of the patient's family members with the cooperation and interaction with the medical staff during hospitalization of the patient. Last but not least, the aim of the thesis was to propose solutions to improve the current situation. The quantitative research was conducted using structured questionnaires. One version of the questionnaire was intended for families of patients in the ICU...

Nursing process of the tracheostomized patient
Körblerová, Jana ; Kordulová, Pavla (advisor) ; Maffei Svobodová, Ludmila (referee)
Tracheostomy is a mutilating procedure and It may be a source of physical, psychological and social trauma for the patient. An average of 170 permanent tracheostomies per year are performed in the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part I focused on species, indications and complications of tracheostomy and tracheostomy cannulas. I also described a complex care of a patient with the permanent tracheostomy including education. I drew on information from the available materials of the Czech Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of the ČLS JEP, from guidelines of the Australian Agency for Clinical Innovation Chatswood and The Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne. My other resources of information were BMC, EBSCO, ProQuest, Medline databases. In the case study, I described the nursing and educational process in the patient who underwent total laryngectomy surgery, from admission to dismiss. The case study includes an assessment of the patient's health status according to Majory Gordon's functional health model. I got all the information from an interview with a patient, from medical records, and from the provision of nursing care. Methods: The case study of the patient after the total laryngectomy surgery including the model of functional health, according to Majory Gordon. Aim of the...
Nursing process hemodialysed patient
Šmajda, Dávid ; Kordulová, Pavla (advisor) ; Maffei Svobodová, Ludmila (referee)
Chronic renal failure is often asymptomatic and painless. Many sick people realize too late that something is happening with their body or kidney function. In renal failure, a complex metabolic disorder arises and water and electrolyte imbalances occur. Unfortunately, this phenomenon is irreversible and a large number of patients must subsequently undergo hemodialysis treatment, which only substitutes kidney work, but does not heal the kidneys themselves. Hemodialysis is currently one of the most widespread methods of renal replacement. Thanks to continuous technological development, it extends the life of patients by several decades and thus improves their lives with chronic kidney disease. The bachelor thesis describes the issue of nursing care of patients included in the hemodialysis program. In the theoretical part of the thesis I describe the issue of chronic renal insufficiency. Furthermore, I focus on the elimination methods of this disease and the necessary vascular approaches for hemodialysis for these patients. In my work I also describe the specifics of nursing care for patients in the hemodialysis program. I have elaborated the thesis on the basis of searching for relevant sources for the given issue. I drew on resources from the National Medical Library, where literature searches were...
Multicultural communication on the intensive care unit
Korfelová, Lenka ; Kordulová, Pavla (advisor) ; Jankovcová, Kateřina (referee) ; Lukášová Jeřábková, Lenka (referee)
(v AJ) The theme of the theses is the nursing process from the point of view of multicultural nursing care of the patient-foreigner in a critical condition admitted to the intensive care unit. Considering the rise of tourism and the number of immigrants in the CR, the increasing number of patients-foreigners can be expected. The mutual communication and the impact of ethno-cultural influence on nursing is becoming a subject of the global interest. Patients' life threatening, stress, and a necessity of prompt and swift decision-making both by patients and health care professionals play a role in the intensive care. The theoretical part of the theses explains the basic concepts associated with multicultural nursing, the legislative framework of the nursing process and the topic of communication with foreigners in an intensive care. The language barriers and ways of overcoming the barriers are defined in this part. Methodology: I chose the case study method for my bachelor theses. A case report of a French patient hospitalized in a critical condition in an intensive care unit was processed from the point of view of multicultural nursing. The basis of the work was the application of theoretical knowledge of the Transcultural Nursing Society and deep insight and understanding my own cultural values and...

Klozová, Ivana ; Kordulová, Pavla (advisor) ; Strnadová, Alice (referee)
Introduction of problems: At present, nursing education is being given increasing attention. This is done by the management of the health service itself, by the teachers, by the nurses themselves, but also by the sick. There is still a burning shortage of nurses in all disciplines and hospitals. The current healthcare situation is slowly coping with changes in education, and only time will show whether changes have been set in the right direction and will help to infiltrate qualified staff into hospitals Goals: The main goal of my diploma thesis was to find out the motivation of nurses for specialization study in intensive care at work. The partial goal number one was to find out if nurses are educated in lifelong learning. Sub-goal number two was to map what nurses are currently the most burdened in their intensive care work. Methodology: A quantitative survey was carried out using custom-built questionnaires that were conducted in the intensive care nursing population Results: The results of the survey showed that the main reason nurses for intensive care intensive care were the fact that they needed money to study, wanted more time for their interests and paid leave before the exams.
