Communication with seniors in social institution

The theoretical part adresses the issues of old age, aging, the importance ofmonitoring changes and explains the specifics of nursing care and nursing processes in social care institution. It explains the term communication and the specifcs of how to communicate with the senior population and also points out the specifics and the demanding character of a nurse's work in old people homes and residential social institutions. The empirical part of the work consists of evaluating a quantitative questionnaire assessing how satisfied seniors are with the lines of communication between them and medical personnel within social institution. The representative sample consists of the clients of the care home studied. The results of the research are analysed and interpreted in tables and charts.
The health Workers' dealing with members of romany community - peculiarities of communication

THE HEALTH WORKERS' DEALINGS WITH MEMBERS OF ROMANY COMMUNITY - PECULIARITIES OF COMMUNICATION The theoretical part of this work informed about history, traditions, values, and the specific communication style of Romany ethnic minority. Lack of understanding to these factors can lead to unnecessary misunderstanding between Romany patients and health workers. The main targets of empirical part were to find out how the health workers dealt with the Roma and what experience they attained with these patients. Further aim of this research were to learn about their foreknowledge of Romany minority. There were 132 health workers who filled in the questionnaire. The hypothesis of applying an equal approach was confirmed. Over 50% of interviewed had predominantly negative experience. The hypothesis of lack of information about cultural customs of Romany minority was confirmed, but only about 20% of interviewed wanted more information. Health workers should applied an individual approach to Roma patients in accordance with transcultural principles. Better foreknowledge could improve mutual communication and reduce amount of conflicts between the members of Romany community and health workers.

Theoretical part is divided to three chapters. In first chapter is author describing used nomenclature, health determinants, impact of lifestyle. In second chapter is analyzed status of preventive examinations in medical care, third chapter is aimed for oncology prevention. Practical part represents quantitative research, for which method of questionnaires was used. Examined sample contains 30 women and 30 mens. Gathered informations are presented using graphical illustrations, sometimes including graphs by demographical values. Nurse in an office of a physician caring for patients with lyme bereliosis

This thesis examines issues surrounding Lyme boreliosis. History of the disease is explored together with pathogenesis, cause, and its vector. Additionally, specific clinical expressions of the disease are identified in conjunction with assessment methods, diagnosis, and treatment. Conducted research explores attitudes and extent of information among patients. The research sample consists of patients of one family physician. Importance is of dissemination of information about this disease and education is discussed. Presented education material aimed at general population is focused on prevention of exposure to ticks, and correct removal of ticks.

This paper describes range of activities in the field of preventive care in general practice for adults - what is involved in preventive examination and what laws is it based on. This work lays emphasis on the engagement of nurses into preventive care, especially into education of patients. Every immediate finding of a disease affects considerably future quality of patient's life.
