Almost half of the annual pharmaceutical expenses accrued by the so called expensive drugs special category. Almost half of the annual turnover of community pharmacies is of the OTCs and the negative list of medicines. So examine the aspects of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) within deepened economic crisis in Greece in order to find professional solutions for the near future as well as by means of survival. We deal with European surrounding and the present situation in basic education and continual training of community pharmacies in Greece taking into account the assumption that community pharmacies are part of the primary health care. Individual countries apply their politics of health care by implementation of legislation and rules which govern entry and access of NPM to the market. Title of Doctoral Thesis Pharmacoeconomic view on the treatment of rheumatic diseases The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the impact of selected rheumatic diseases on health and social insurance, and to investigate the severity and cost of individual items and the distribution of costs among specific subgroups of patients according to type of therapy or disease severity. The methodology used was a Cost-Of-Illness analysis from the societal perspective. Data on treatment, reduction of labour productivity and level of disability were collected through questionnaires (between members of patient organizations or doctors). Indirect costs for all diagnoses were calculated by using the Friction Cost Approach and due to the same methodology can be compared. The dissertation is presenting cost analysis of ankylosing spondylitis (AS), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), psoriasis (Ps) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Title of Thesis Hospital Drug Formularies in the Czech Republic Drug formularies have been used for more than 50 years. Their importance in the hospital sector is increasing as more and more therapeutic alternatives arise and the drug-costs grow as well. Hospital drug formulary system is one of the most widely used mechanisms hospitals use to optimise their drug policy. The goal of the thesis was to evaluate the usage of the system on the sample of the Czech hospitals and to offer potential improve-ment. The starting point was to compile the current knowledge on the hospital drug formulary usage. The questionnaire based on the found data was designed to obtain the information on drug formulary system usage in the particular hospital. Then the questionnaire was sent to various Czech hospitals; at the same time, the questionnaire (translated into English) was sent to a German university hospital. Title of Thesis «Antibiotic use by pharmacy employees» Introduction: This thesis discusses the issue of the purchase and use of antibiotics pharmacy employees in Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation. The objectives of the study were to investigate their level of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding antibiotics. The frequency of consulting the pharmacists about diseases that often require antibiotics is rather high among patients in the Russian Federation. And many pharmacists provide their recommendations. Opinion polls held by WCIOM (Russian Public Opinion Research Center) in 2011 showed that 46% of respondents believe antibiotics kill viruses. Moreover, since 2007 this figure has even increased slightly - then it was 45%. A survey whose goal is the gathering of information from foreign students about their experience in universities abroad, especially at Charles University. Methods: Data collection through appreciation of information and studying of literature. Questionnaire answered by 61 following students of pharmacy on March 2013. Results: Studies in high school, entrance examination of students in University , undergraduate and postgraduate studies in discipline of pharmacy are the main characteristics of both educational systems. 5 Abstract This thesis deals with common European Health System policies and attempts to compare them in order to present the different approaches to health care constitution in single European countries, aiming, primarily, to define common targets and goals to be met in creating European healthcare standards. The main aim of composing this thesis is to characterize healthcare system trends within Europe through data provided by official institution, and furthermore, to interpret and evaluate them. This thesis also defines basic models of healthcare systems and their functioning as well as common action undertaken by European Union in the field of health systems. By assessing all gained information we created recommendations for further development and mutual recognition of healthcare policies. Retrospective Analysis utlilization of Lipid Modifying Agents

Title of Doctoral Thesis Retrospective analysis utilization of lipid modifying agents Lipid lowering agents have been repeatedly the objective of studies analysing their utilization and costs. The objective of this study was to evaluate the structure and development of consumption of hypolipidemic agents. Material and methods. Data concerning utilization of individual hypolipidemic drugs from 2002 to 2009 were obtained from the State Institute for Drug Control database and General Health Insurance Company - Karvina district database. Utilization of hypolipidemic drugs were stated in DDDs in correspondence with the ATC Classification, and the costs in CZK. Information on utilization is expressed in the number of DDD per 1,000 inhabitants per 1 day (DID). Results. The utilization of fibrates slightly decreased, while statins an increase from 13.55 DID (2002) to 60.10 DID (2009) was observed. The total utilization of hypolipidemic drugs in DID has been continuously increasing (32.34 DID in 2002, 76.30 DID in 2009). Hypolipidemic drugs take the 5th place in the Czech Republic from the standpoint of expenses....
