The Possibilities of Empathy and Altruism Development in Pre-School Children"

(in English): There are different ways of pre-school children empathy and altruism development. The theoretical part of the thesis concerns aspects that according to experts play the most important role from the specific point of view and in the specific social environment. It contains an analysis of the master educational plan and available auxiliary literature. The thesis also specifies examples of empathy support in the Czech Republic and abroad and describes the everyday routine in several typical Kindergarten classes. The practical part gathers findings concerning children's empathy support in common practice through the qualitative research from the perspective of the Kindergarten staff. It also describes children's abilities and skills in helping others as well as their limits. The final part of the thesis focuses on the possible future implementation of the methods into the master educational plan using the acquired knowledge for the socially undesirable phenomena prevention.
Probe within the competence of civil adviser

(in English): The theme of this thesis is to probe into the competences of civil advisor. This work focuses on finding competency requirements that must be met for the civil work consultant and also how this all is perceived by consultants themselves. This thesis is divided into two main blocks, the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains characteristic and defining of concepts and activities in field of counseling with detailed specification of the Civil advice and its staff. The main emphasis is placed on defining the knowledge, skills and values of civil advisors. The practical part is finding out the perspective of civil advisors competency within their profession and also the needs in this area. The main questions of the research which were asked are the following: "What degree of confidence feel the civil advisers in their competence while counseling?" And "Is current system of education of consultants sufficient?" Responses were gained by data analysis identified by a quantitative survey supplemented by qualitative interviews with community advisors. There are proposals for further research on the topic in conclusion of this thesis.
The alternate care in the families with a history of domestic violence

The theme of this bachelor's thesis is the issue of joint custody in a context of problems of families with a history of domestic violence. The theoretical part describes the main characteristics of joint custody, the conditions for its court order and the basic legislative frameworks on which it's based. Attention is also paid to the proponents or opponents of this form of child care in the post-divorce period. The reader is introduced to the specifics of domestic violence, its dynamics and impact on a child in a family. In the end of the theoretical part are described some of the forms of possible solutions that the existence of domestice violence in conjuction with the joint custody requires. The practical part deals with case studies of families with a history of domestic violence in which was applied the joint custody on the basis of a court decision.
Formal and informal family supports to adults with schizophrenic disorders

Bachelor thesis deals with mental illness called schizophrenia, family responses to the mental illness of their family members, coping with these situations, ways of formal and informal support in a family in which a person with schizophrenic illness live and finally the end of the process of deinstitucionalization. The first chapter describes the mental disorder called schizophrenia, its symptoms, process, form, possible heredity and treatment. The following is a view of illness as a lack of income and the government allowances for sickness and disability. The end of the first chapter takes into the system of social services in the UK, Denmark and Germany. The second chapter deals with a family and their reaction to the disease. It gives insight into the relationship, living situation in the social environment and the risks that may arise in the family due to the illness of their member. It shows what the stress means to the family, describes which situation can be stressful. The chapter also addresses to how manageable this issue is, intervention of a social worker, introduction of resilience and community care. The influence of the League of Community Schools for inclusion of socially disadvantaged students

The thesis deals with the education of socially disadvantaged pupils, specifically pupils studying at three selected schools that are members of the "Liga komunitních škol"(The League of Community Schools), which focuses on community-based and inclusive education. The theoretical part analyzes the social deprivation and its impact on the education of pupils who come from families with low socioeconomic status. It also discusses disparities in education and inclusive education. The practical part is critical to assessing whether pupils studying at three selected schools receives a quality inclusive education, which they should help to overcome their handicaps to full-fledged integration into society.
Possibilities of school social work in tertiary education in the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis "The possibilities of school social work in tertiary education in the Czech Republic" analyses the possibilities of introducing the profession of a social worker into the Czech university education system. The first part of the thesis is focused on presenting general issues of school social work. Moreover, the development of school social work in the Czech Republic is described and compared to the experience in other countries where school social work has a long tradition. The second part is dedicated to the specifics of university environment, its problems and its potential. The differences between the client target groups in secondary and tertiary education are explained. The last section of the thesis defines the roles and competences of school social workers at universities. The definition of a university social worker is created with regard to the worker's activities and specialization. Comprehensiveness and Continuity of Services for Individuals with Disabilities

Abstract (in English): The aim of the diploma thesis is to map the needs of persons with disabilities with a focus on persons with mental retardation from birth until the end of their life and also quantity, diversity and quality of social services with emphasis on continuity and comprehensiveness in the former district town of Rychnov nad Kneznou. In this thesis, I will focus on the challenges and needs of families in which a child with disabilities was born and the amount of support and care that the child received in the past and gets in the present. Also, I point out the difficulties associated with the availability of social services for people with disabilities and their families in a village located 20 km from the district town or regional town. In the practical part, I perform empirical investigation of families with children with disabilities where some of them will come from the district town and the surrounding area and some of them from more isolated parts of Rychnov region.

The Development of Residential Care of Senior Citizens in Klatovy and Surrounding Area from 1918 till Recent Days

The topic of this bachelor thesis is dedicated to the development of social services for senior citizens in Klatovy and the surrounding villages from the year 1918 onwards. The thesis has been devided into three main chapters. Chapter one describes the development of legislation concerning social services for senior citizens in the Czech Republic from 1918 until the present time. Legislation concerning short stay support and residential care are clearly presented. Chapter two briefly describes the history of the town of Klatovy covering the same period as chapter one. Data about the history, population and other interesting facts regarding culture, politics and social life complete this chapter. A list of institutions, which provided or provide short term residential services for senior citizens on the territory of the town and its nearest surrounding from 1918 onwards forms chapter 3.
Elimination of Barriers in Programmes of Czech Television for People with a Hearing Disability

(in English): This bachelor thesis deals with closed subtitles as a means to remove barriers in terms of access to programmes broadcasted by Czech Television for viewers with hearing disabilities. The theoretical part provides a general view at the target audience and their communication specifics that may affect their closed subtitles usage. Attention is also paid to the statutory framework which sets out the obligation to provide a certain percentage of broadcasted programmes with closed subtitles and to the extent of fulfillment of the legal obligations. The possibilities of providing pre-recorded programmes with closed subtitles are discussed as well. The practical part reports a research probe focused on the satisfaction of hearingimpaired viewers with services of Czech Television.
