The Social-activating Programs for Seniors in Klub Remedium

This study deals with social-activating programs for seniors. It tries to answer the question how seniors evaluate social-activating programs in Klub REMEDIUM. The main task is then to find reviews of the social services provided at Klub REMEDIUM its visitors and draw cocnclusions along with a concept of posible improvement of service delivery. As a target then I'm also interested in the contribution that seniors are seeing from the use of these services. To achieve the goals I have used a quantitative method of data collection survey, which I also completed by the qualitative method of personal interviews and my own observation for deeper understanding of the topic. I have found that seniors evaluate these programs strongly positive. But I also encountered the problem areas that have become an incentive to improve service delivery.

The institute of preventive detention: comission, goals and limitations of the new preventive measure

The institute of preventive detention is a new protective measure in our penal law. The theme of this thesis is an analysis of the comission and goals of the new protective measure and focusing on a comparation of theoretical and practical function of this protective measure. The folowing chapters provide the characterization of the preventive detention and its legal framework in the Czech republic. The component part of the thesis is also a description of the preventive detention in a legal framework of other state, concretely Slovakia. At the end of the work there are explicated knowledges obtained during the visit of the Institute for preventive detention Brno. In this chapter not only functional equipment is described but also the compositon of the inmates and employees and their most important competencies. Programms, by which are the medical goals fullfiled are described at the end of the thesis.

Free time activities of adults with mental disability in Prague - the possibility of support in the planning and implementation

Diploma thesis "Free Time Activities of Adults with Mental Disability in Prague - the Possibility of Support in the Planning and Implementation" was written with the general objective to point out this issue in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part is aimed at introduction into areas, which are closely related with this issue. It deals with free time in general, characteristics of mental retardation and the adulthood of a person with intellectual disability. The final chapter, which deals specifically with leisure of people with intellectual disabilities, is based primarily on foreign studies and experience. The practical part consists of two investigations. The first was focused on finding organizations providing support to people with intellectual disabilities in leisure time and on precise determination of their activities (through interviews). A directory has been created with a list of offered individual support and group activities. In the second 18 interviews were conducted with adults with intellectual disability living in the current environment to determine how they think of their free time. Introduction of an Early Intervention System in Prague

The System of Timely Intervention (SVI) is new system of multidisciplinary cooperation of the social and legal protection of children and youth and crime prevention. SVI is a tool for faster and more effectively deal with these cases, allowing better communication, prompt, adequate and effective response to concerned authorities (police, Department of social-legal protection of children, courts, prosecution, Probation and Mediation Service, schools, health facilities and NGOs ). In my work I describe The System of Timely Intervention and implementation options in the Capital City of Prague. Present organizational structure of the Capital City of Prague (as a region), the main actors involved in the system, the principles of mutual cooperation, legislation and related concepts and basic pillars of the project SVI. On the basis of seven specific case studies, I attempted to describe the current cooperation between institutions in the socio-legal protection of children and potential risks of its introduction and throughout the region (The Capital City of Prague). This work summarizes the current situation in the care of vulnerable children and offer possible recommendations for more effective work within the Timely Intervention System.

Child abuse and neglect and possibilities of his legal protection (in context of family preservation)

Problematika spadající pod syndrom CAN - zejména je-li pachatelem rodič dítěte - je velmi závažným společenským selháním. Rovněž tento druh násilí má pro dítě, které je na svých rodičích emocionálně i materiálně závislé, důsledky, které si nese dál životem. V práci jsem čerpala ze studia odborné literatury, jež mi pomohla hlouběji proniknout do dané problematiky a pochopit patologické jevy, které ji doprovázejí. Vycházela jsem z potřeby účinné pomoci dětským obětem syndromu CAN, s vyzvednutím faktu, že separace dítěte od rodičů není vždy tím nej lepším řešením. Rovněž jsem se zaměřila na nutnost vzájemně sladěné, interdisciplinární a koordinované spolupráce, jako preventivního faktoru podílejícího se na snížení rizika systémového týrání dítěte. Vše výš uvedené jsem prakticky ukázala na zvolených kasuistikách. Přínos práce spočívá v sumarizaci ( a návrzích možných řešení) závažných nedostatků a problémových oblastí, jenž se na poli ochrany práv a zájmů dítěte vyskytují a v metodickém popsání sociální práce s rodinou metodou sanace, na českém poli relativně nové oblasti, která může být jak cestou prevence výskytu syndromu CAN, tak i cestou následné úspěšné pomoci. Social services for children and youth in community planning

The compendium Child and youth are supposed to be a social group threatened by the social exclusion. Young generation is a future of every society. Socialization is process of social growing. Socialization is aimed to a social integration of an individual. The agents of socialization are family, school, peergroup and massmedias. These agents have positive or negative influence. Child and youth merit social protection, because they face hazards, which they are not able to cope with. Social services realize social protection. On the level of community, social services are realized through the community planning. Community planning come out from the target group need analysis. Lowtreshold facilities are the services of a social prevention. In the research part, the specific needs of youth are defined.

System, functioning and development of institutional care from 1950 until today and influence of institutional care on childhood in Czech Republic

In my dissertation i tried to describe the systém of substituted parential care and substituted institutional care in our country. I also tried to describe changes in the systém from the 1950 until today. I tried to describe changes in the systém of substituted institutional care and changes of the institutions, which were using in this systém. I also tried to describe negative effects, which relates to living in the institutional care and i also tried to describe methods which can reduce those effects. There is also chapter about non-governmental organizations which tried to reduce negative effects of living in the institutional care. The second part of my dissertation (which includes the practise) is about the present situation, described by social workers who work with families in need. In this part of my dissertation I tried to describe present social systém, which gives a hand families in need with their troubles. In this part I tried to describe possibilities of systém improvement, which should be used if we want to improve our systém of substituted parential care.

Comparation of NZDM offer with users' expectation

Bachelor thesis "Comparation of NZDM offer with users expectation" discuss the lowtreshold clubs for children and youth like a nearly new kind of social service. Thesis is sectored for teoretical and for practical parts. In the first part is discussed idea NZDM and the canon of lowlandings. There is a part about history and basements of lowtreshold clubs in Czech republic and the moorings of NZDM in a law. There is a description of an exploring coil which was used between Jahoda low-treshold club on Černý Most ward in Prague 14 in practical part. This part of thesis locates users conception about the perception "low-treshold", about supply of low-treshold club and about users expetancy. The coil has 3 parts. The 1st part is about users, who came to the NZDM first time, the second part is about users, who are coming to the NZDM rarelly for a long time, and the last part of the coil is about change of conception of NZDM by the firts time users after visiting low-treshold club for a longer time. The empirical coil became not only for the bachelor thesis, but it should be the first step for next systematic testing of the low-treshold club as well as it needed for better functional for users.

Services for children and adolescent in region of Prague 13

In its theoretical part the Bachelor Thesis "Services for children and youth in the area of Prague 13" speaks about social services, their acreditation and standarts of quality in social services. Short chapter is dedicated to community planning which has become the most widely spread form of both social services and of services in general. Further on in the thesis types of services for children and youth are mentioned according to how they are defined by law and specialised literature. This part concerns the services that can be used by children and youth mostly during their leisure time. Practical part is centered on the area of Prague 13 which is fastly growing area that where the new inhabitants are accepted. Later in the work is a remark about the sociodemographic structure about this district of Prague. There are discussed separate areas of the life in Prague 13 and the coverage of this area by the services for children and youth and about how they are perceived by average user. According to the law n.108/2007 of the code about the social services, services are communaly planned there too. There was also made a research about the needs of the users of social services.
