Group navigation in RTS games using flow networks over flow field regions
Koblížek, Jan ; Gemrot, Jakub (advisor) ; Švancara, Jiří (referee)
This thesis explores the challenges of implementing effective navigation for groups of units in real-time strategy computer games, specifically focusing on the movement of large numbers of homogeneous units across a two-dimensional grid-based map. The thesis presents a pathfinding algorithm that could be used in RTS games. The algorithm enables the units to utilize multiple paths effectively by modeling the unit navigation as a flow network problem. The units use precomputed flow fields during the navigation. This allows for faster pathfinding times by offloading part of the computation to the preprocessing. The algorithm's performance is evaluated against a baseline solution using the A* algorithm and other existing solutions. Comparative analysis will be conducted utilizing maps from the Moving AI 2D Pathfinding Benchmark dataset to assess the efficacy of the proposed solution. 1
Procedurally Generated Volumetric Cloudscapes for Unity

Title: Procedurally Generated Volumetric Cloudscapes for Unity Author: Jan Koblı́žek Department: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor: Mgr. Martin Kahoun, Department of Software and Computer Science Edu- cation Abstract: The traditional approach to cloud rendering in computer games is based on static sky- boxes or a set of static textures. Volumetric clouds used to be too computationally expensive, but with advances in GPU performance, they were successfully used in recent gaming titles. This thesis presents an implementation of real-time volumetric clouds for the Unity game engine. Clouds are described by multiple textures (both 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional) and rendered using a ray marching algorithm. The resulting implementation allows three types of low altitude clouds - cumulus, stra- tocumulus and stratus. The user can seamlessly transition between different coverages, times of the day, and animate clouds based of the speed and direction of the wind. Clouds support advanced lighting effects such as casting soft shadows and sun shafts. Keywords: clouds, volumetric raymarching, real-time rendering, Unity (game engine) 1
The Principles of Francisco Suarez's Political Power: Suarez's consent in the context of the theory of the social contract developing from 16th until 18th century
Koblížek, Jan ; Sousedík, Stanislav (advisor) ; Svoboda, David (referee) ; Altrichter, Michal (referee)
The Abstract The meaning of this dissertation thesis is to find out whether we can regard Francisco Suárez as a representative of the social-contracting theories developing in the period from 16th until 18th century. Suárez, who is more likely known for his metaphysical disputations, gives a really sophisticated formulation about the origin of the common society and the political power, where the key point is the word of the social consent. At the first time it seems that Suárez can be without difficulty considered as a modern period humanist like Thomas Hobbes, John Locke or lately Jean-Jacques Rousseau. As well as they, Suárez thinks that the independent human will has its unsubstitutable part in the origin of the political society. Nevertheless there is a large difference. While according to the mentioned humanists, the independent will is the only principle of the political power, Suárez thinks that this will is just the necessary condition meeting the human nature created by the God, that it is the true principle of the whole political power. Suarez's meaning of the social consent is then situated in the theological framework and is closely associated with the words of the nature and the transcendence. The result is that Suárez understands the state as a natural and moral organization and not as a...
Community and religion - Analysis of work "De civitate Dei" of Augustine and critical evaluation of Hannah arendts thesis "Love and Saint Augustine"
Koblížek, Jan ; Sousedík, Stanislav (referee) ; Šprunk, Karel (referee)
The work "Community and religion" is the phenomenological reflexion introducing into the problems of the relation between the politics and the religion. We come out of two different positions. The first is represented by St. Augustin. He understands the religion as constitutional element of the political community. The second position is defended by Hannah Arendt. She says that between the politics and the religion is no intersection. In our work we try to define the visual field of both of two authors and to find a solution to understanding for the politics as relation between the person and the community.
