Differences between subspecies of tiger Panthera tigris, focusing on their protection

The thesis deals with the topic of the differences among subspecies of tiger Panthera tigris with the focus on the level of endangerment and their protection. The introduction outlines brief phylogeny of predators, evolution of felines and current taxonomic classification of the tiger and its subspecies. First part contains general information about tigers such as their basic coloring, sizes and weights, data about the original occurrence and natural biotype. It provides the information about the number of tigers in the wild. It also focuses on biological characteristics such as reproductive capacity, preferred prey and hunting method. The thesis also states the reasons of the endangerment of tigers and data about their protection. Second part of the thesis deals with the specific information about particular subspecies: colorings, sizes, weights, occurrence and biotype, population, reproduction, prey, reasons of the endangerment and the status of their protection.
