Adjoint solver
Heinz, Pavel ; Kůrečka, Jan (referee) ; Moravec, Prokop (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with an analysis of selected settings of Adjoint solver in commercial software ANSYS Fluent 18.2. The first part of the thesis deals with the basics of hydrodynamics, especially the equations describing the behaviour of liquids. It also deals with the theoretical foundations of CFD simulation and shape optimization. Examples of simple shape optimization cases are presented in this thesis. The last part focuses on the analysis of selected settings of Adjoint solver. These settings are afterwards tested on specific hydraulic part for a purpose of a pressure loss reduction.
Experimental stand for mechanical heart valves
Ermis, Martin ; Kůrečka, Jan (referee) ; Šedivý, Dominik (advisor)
The thesis focuses on experimental stand for mechanical heart valves. It consists of brief research about cardiovascular system and artificial heart valves. Another part of the thesis is report about measurement made on the stand. This is followed by analysis of other experimental stands in the world and suggestions for improvement of current stand in the laboratory of Victor Kaplan Department of Fluid Engineering.
Elements reducing pressure in pipeline systems
Kohút, Jiří ; Kůrečka, Jan (referee) ; Himr, Daniel (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of control elements in piping systems. The fluid at different flow rates exhibits different behavior and due to the fluid contact with the pipeline, pressure losses occur. Elements in piping systems meet various requirements such as pressure control, flow rate control, barrier and flow direction control. The thesis deals with the categories description and functional priciples of individual elements. The practical part consists of the laboratory measurement describing characteristic of one of the pressure control elements, namely the pressure reducing valve. The measured characteristic is compared to characterstic from a company called Malgorani.
Artificial heart valves
Ruzsík, Erik ; Kůrečka, Jan (referee) ; Šedivý, Dominik (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is artificial heart valves and it contains some specific features of the cardiovascular system. Furthermore, it deals with the rheology of blood, summarises the types of artificial heart valves used and values their advantages and disadvantages. Its main goal is to determine the pressure drop on a real mechanical heart valve. The practical part consists of an experiment in the OFIVK laboratory. The achieved results are assessed in the conclusion of the thesis.
The consequences of the breach of evidence rules for the effectiveness of evidence
Kurečka, Jan ; Šámal, Pavel (advisor) ; Herczeg, Jiří (referee)
RESUME The purpose of my thesis is to analyse criminal law regulation of rules of evidence and its consequences regarding nullity of evidence. The reason for my research is my long term interest in criminal law and specifically criminal proceedings The thesis is divided in two basic broad chapters and subsequent sub-chapters. The first chapter deals with general aspects of rules of evidence, explaining basic terminology and basic principles that dominate the law of evidence, division of evidence and general rules on admissibility of evidence as covered by the only explicit condition which is provided by the Criminal code of proceedings (that is that evidence shall not be acquired by compulsion or by threat of thereof) and by contemporary legal theory. The second chapter deals with particular forms of evidence such as examination of the defendant, examination of witnesses, expert evidence, polygraph and monitoring of telecommunication and the rules that govern them. Each of the forms of evidence is described with emphasis on potential errors in proceeding that may result in nullity of the evidence. In each of the sub-categories I describe current regulation of the topic and include case law references where possible, with international oversight where available and/or of significance to my thesis. The final...
Improving of hydraulic properties of swirl turbines
Kůrečka, Jan ; Veselý, Jindřich (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes design of blade geometry of swirl turbines with different blade row density for given parameters Q11 = 1,9 [m3s-1], n11 = 170 [min-1], H=2,5 m, and =0,8. Goal is to found out differences between designs with high count of runner blades and design with fewer blades. Comparison of computed characteristics of three, seven and nine bladed runners is given.
Magnetic fluids used in the fluids engineering
Kůrečka, Jan ; Nováková, Naděžda (referee) ; Fialová, Simona (advisor)
Magnetic fluids are unique combination of fluids and magnetic materials and they are today used in many different applications. This thesis describes the characteristics of magnetorheological (MR) fluids and ferrofluids, their differncies and possibilities of practical uses. Examples of current magnetic fluids are given and comparison of their selected properties.
