Position of elders in education

The presented bachelor thesis deals with selected aspects of education of elders. It focuses primarily on the analysis of docility of elders and the demographical situation in the Czech Republic. The paper is divided into four chapters, which deal with the position of elders in the society, the changes of docility linked with age, motivation to study and universities of the third age, respectively. Active involvement in educational process has a positive impact on mental condition of every individual. The aim of this thesis is to capture problems which arise in the sphere of docility in connection with proceeding age. A further target is the comparison of course offers of universities of the third age with regard to their branch specialization. The thesis also mentions negative social phenomenons, which complicate elders' efforts for self-realization.
