The Role of Non-Profit Institution Social Worker in Attending of Foster Families

This bachelor thesis titled "The role of non-profit institution social worker in attending of foster families" describes social worker operating procedure in attending of foster families. My writing is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter I presented basic terms which concern described theme: social work, social worker, non-profit institution worker (so called empowered person), foster parent, non-profit institution etc. Next chapter deals with the matter from the legislative point of view of both Czech and a foreign legal code. Particular ways of the foster care are described in the following chapter. The core and goal of this bachelor thesis is described in the fourth chapter "Cooperation an empowered person and a foster parent" and also in the fifth chapter "Selected methods and activities of a non-profit institution worker in attending of foster families". Besides description of particular methods and activities of a non-profit institution social worker in attending of foster families, the final chapter describes a foster care performing agreement which lays the foundations for a non-profit institution social worker. Communication in children's groups - comparison of interactions in healthy and mentally handicapped children

This thesis focuses on communication in groups of children. The main attention is put on intact children and children with disabilities. My work deals primarily with the components of non-verbal communication, alternative and augmentative communication. I focus on children at school age, on their ability to communicate and on their skills of working in the group. I monitor interactions at the level of children and the group leader and at the level between children themselves. Dignified old age - evaluation of the project "Don't get lost in old age"

The topic of the diploma thesis is evaluation of the project "Don't get lost in old age". This project is focused on education and counseling in topics of aging. In theoretical part, I focus on description of current situation of old age and aging, summarize old age associated key problems to which the project tries to respond. I also describe the concept of dignity, clarify the needs of seniors and their families. I also mention the possibilities of social services that focus on the elderly or support the carers. The main topic of the work is to introduce and evaluate the consulting portal and all its activities. The project includes many professionals such as a lawyer, nutritionist, financial expert, psychologist and social worker. Range of areas of consultations is therefore wide. However, in order for the project to reach the public as much as possible, it is necessary to direct activities right, to promote the consulting portal and increase interest in the topic of old age and aging with it. In practical part, through interviews with experts and project participants, I evaluate the functionality of the project and I map where improvements would be appropriate.
