Relationship between tensile strength and hardness of aluminium alloys
Růžička, Martin ; Jetela, Václav (referee) ; Klement, Josef (advisor)
This thesis deals with relationship between tensile strength and hardness of aluminium alloys. The introduction provides an overview of aluminum aloys and their properties. In the following section there is an analysis of the processing of aluminum alloys. A large part is devoted to the course of precipitation hardening. The second part of the thesis contains a practical part, which describes the methodology of measuring hardness and tensile strength. The measurement process is described below. At the end, the measured data are processed into various graphs and their results are evaluated.
Hybride adhesive bonded joints of metals and composite materials
Jetela, Václav ; Symonov, Volodymyr (referee) ; Klement, Josef (advisor)
The first part of the diploma thesis with name „Hybrid adhesive bonded joints of metals and composite materials“ comprise surface pretreatment review. There is also mentioned current review of adhesives for composite and aluminium adherends. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to lap hybrid joint shear strength tests. The effects of adherend thickness, overlap lenght and surface pretreatment on shear strength were investigated. Measured parameters of hybrid joints are proved with a FE analysis with enough accuracy. Conclusions could be used for optimum design of hybrid joint with aluminium and composite adherends.
Landing gear and cargo bay of competition model airplane
Bazakas, Christos ; Jetela, Václav (referee) ; Šplíchal, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is design of landing gear and cargo bay of an aircraft model for competition SAE Aero Design East 2020. The first part focuses on the rules of the competition. Next part contents known landing gear configurations. Analysis of suitable airfoils follows with selection of the best on efor the model. Last part shows the design of inner structure of the cargo bay.
Design proposal and analysis of the 3D printed 1U CubeSat frame
Actuators in aviation
Jetela, Václav ; Horák, Marek (referee) ; Bencalík, Karol (advisor)
The bachelor thesis with name “Actuators in aviation” deals with complete review of hydraulic and electric powered actuators used in aircrafts in a first part. Second part of the thesis is dedicated to review of hydraulic systems. Each chapter contains description of function and schematic drawings. There are mentioned construction designs of actuator test stand for performance testing. Last part of the thesis includes comparison of actuators according to the performance and application in aircrafts.
Advanced materials, manufacturing and hi-tech components testing for space technology development
Design of 3D-printed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
Sladký, Martin ; Jetela, Václav (referee) ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design proposal of the unmanned aircraft produced by FDM technology. The introduction is devoted to a brief overview of 3D printing technologies and the research of design strategies used for the production of 3D printed aircrafts. The second part is devoted to the design itself. Two types of winglets, wing and central part of the aircraft were designed. The individual parts of the aircraft have been converted to G-code format and printed on a 3D printer. Finally, the aircraft was assembled.
Evaluation of dynamic damage of composite structure
Štefanovič, Peter ; Jetela, Václav (referee) ; Klement, Josef (advisor)
The first part of the diploma thesis with name „Evaluation of dynamic damage of composite structure“ focuses on designing device for impact experiments and suitable laminate samples made from prepregs. The conditions and problems of impact tests are also demonstrated here. The second part of the thesis deals with non-destructive control of damaged specimens based on thermography. This is mainly the extent of defects in the impaired area and the evaluation of results using the pulse infrared thermography method. Finally, the relative deviation in the crack size comparison between the visual method and thermographic are compared. Consequently, the residual strength of the damaged samples against undamaged specimens are compared using bending tests.
Smart materials in aviation
Riger, Rostislav ; Jetela, Václav (referee) ; Klement, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with smart materials and their applications in aviation. The theoretical part explains what we mean by the term smart materials and what we want to achieve with their use. Further, these materials are sorted according to the principle of their function and described. The practical part is focused on specific applications of smart materials in aviation. Sometimes these are only theoretical applications that have not yet been used.
Hardenability of aluminium alloys and its experimental determination
Weiss, Andrej ; Jetela, Václav (referee) ; Klement, Josef (advisor)
The Diploma thesis deals with the verification of Jominy end-quench test when analysis of hardenability of aluminium alloys is considered. The problem was solved experimentally, by developing end-quench curves of selected grades of aluminium alloys. Degree of hardenability of alloy is hardness after complete strengthening heat treatment. Samples of aluminium alloys commonly used for aircraft structures were prepared and then subjected to end-quench tests in various quenchants. On the basis of performed experiments, suitability of Jominy end-quench test for comparison of hardenability of alloys was found. Part of the thesis deals with the creation of equivalent cooling rate diagrams using the developed end-quench curves.
