Reduction of NOx emissions using ceramic filter
Rubišar, Václav ; Niesner, Jakub (referee) ; Jedlička, Filip (advisor)
My bachelor's thesis deals with the problém of NOX reduction which is present in the flue gases. First is the description of all major types of NOX and are given their chemical properties. It is mentioned and their impact on human health and the mechanism of their formation. Furthermore, they presented all the major methods by which today achieves the reduction of nitrogen oxides from flue gases and waste gases, especially the method of selective catalytic reduction. That can be achieved in several ways - for example by using ceramic candles or fabric filters. Each of these methods is also listed with main advantages and disadvantages. Part of this work will become familiar with experimental filtration unit INTEQ II designed for selective catalytic reduction of NOX, a description of its function and a simple calculation of pressure losses in the ceramic candle.
Application of activated carbon in flue gas treatment process
Navrátil, Petr ; Niesner, Jakub (referee) ; Jedlička, Filip (advisor)
The objective of this bachelor thesis is to explain the problematic of flue gas treatment from the air pollutants mainly by methods using adsorption on activated carbon. There is an introduction to environmental protection, description of selected chemicals, charcoal and description of technologies to remove pollutants in municipal waste incinerators, and finally mention the possibilities of disposal or reuse of a saturated carbon. And finally selection of appropriate methods and design for a specific application.
NOx reduction in flue gas
Rumánek, Tomáš ; Jedlička, Filip (referee) ; Dvořák, Radek (advisor)
My master´s thesis deals with the problems of NOx abatement that are included in flue gas. The accent is put on flue gases treatment throug cloth filter or ceramic candles, where the deposited catalyst enables NOx reduction throug the method of selective cytalytic reduction. In thesis is also describe experimental unit which current remove gaseous pollutants (dioxin, VOC and NOX) and ash on catalytic cloth filter or catalytic ceramic candles. For experimental unit has been calculated pressure drop. Pressure drop has been calculated for nominal and maximal conditions for cloth filter and ceramic candle. Last part of thesis deals with compile a experimental schemes for different concentration of NO, flow and temperature of combustion.
Design of equipment for thermo mechanical pre-treatment of biodegradable waste
Kolařík, Ivo ; Jedlička, Filip (referee) ; Beňo, Zdeněk (advisor)
The main objective of this master’s thesis is to develop design equipment for thermomechanical pre-treatment of biodegradable waste. An important aspect of the design is taking into account current legislation, sanitary conditions for determining the pre-treated biodegradable material, which also serves as a raw material for biogas production. So the device will be used to monitor the impact of thermomechanical pre-treatment of biodegradable waste for biogas recovery. The following describes the processes of anaerobic decomposition of biodegradable materials and technology, whose main task is intensification of anaerobic decomposition of organic materials. The theoretical work are given various methods of processing and utilization of biodegradable wastes, focusing on kitchen waste and sludge from sewage plants. The next section describes the various factors that may affect the stability of the process of biogas generation. This also results in yield and chemical composition of biogas. A key part of this master’s thesis is to develop technical documentation and an approximate calculation of the hot slurry.
Measurements results assessment and emission limits
Čech, Martin ; Jedlička, Filip (referee) ; Dvořák, Radek (advisor)
Main content of this task is summary and explanation of main methods, which can be used to evaluation the results from measuring of pollutants in combustion gases. The way which should be most acceptable for our datas will be consequently used in a simply example. There will be mentioned the importace of chosing the entering datas and their dependence on outer conditions. Another chapter will be devoted to emission standarts of main pollutants in Czech republic and in chosen world countries too. There will be mentioned the historical developement of these standarts and hypothesis to the future about this question too.
Reduction of NOx contained in flue gas
Janík, Prokop ; Jecha, David (referee) ; Jedlička, Filip (advisor)
Research in the field of NOX abatement has grown significantly in the past two decades. The general trend has been to develop new catalysts with complex materials in order to meet the stringent environmental regulations. The master’s thesis deals with the cleaning flue gases through a filter element which is from porous ceramics. There is catalyst implemented for NOx reduction throug the method of selective catalytic reduction in the filter element. There is also description of experimental unit for flue gas cleaning. Part of the thesis is creation of prediction model which allows to predict efficiency reduction in the filtration device operating conditions with some accuracy.
Treatment of flue gas polluted by NOx II
Jedlička, Filip ; Jecha, David (referee) ; Dvořák, Radek (advisor)
My master’s thesis deals with the problems of NOx abatement that are included in flue gases. The accent is put on combined flue gases treatment throug ceramic candles, where the deposited catalyst enables NOx reduction throug the method of selective catalytic reduction. The main aim of my master’s thesis has been the design of experimental equipment for current removal of gas pollutants (dioxins, VOC and NOx) and fly-ash on catalitic ceramic candle. Design of experimental equipment consisted in the calculation of basic characteristics like pipe diameter, filtration chamber diameter, heater performance etc. During the design it was necessary to build pressure drop model that was split into head loss of ceramic candle and piping system. For the evaluation of experimentally measured data and for description of ongoing catalytic reaction in various operating conditions was made prediction model of catalytical filter. The last chapter deals with planned experimental testings.
Reduction of nitrogen oxides in flue gas on special filter materials
Sirový, Martin ; Jecha, David (referee) ; Jedlička, Filip (advisor)
This thesis deals with the reduction of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) which are part of the exhaust gas combustion devices. The focus is on reduction of NOx by selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and catalyst filtration. The first part of this work deals with the formation of NOx, their hazards and related legislation. The following is an overview of the available technologies to reduce NOx in the flue gas and comparison of this methods. The following section describes the experimental catalytic filtration unit INTEQ II, where the first real experiment selective catalytic reduction of NOx with ammonia was realized. We have verified the operability of the experimental units and achieve up to 80% efficiency SCR. The final section describes the progress of the experiment and its results. It is recommended a few minor adjustments to improve stabile operation of unit INTEQ II.
Biogas utilization
Trnka, Daniel ; Jedlička, Filip (referee) ; Dvořák, Radek (advisor)
This thesis deals with the use of biogas. It describes biogas from its creation through technology for its production and its final use. Then it generally describes the biogas plants in order to summarize the advantages and disadvantages of biogas production in its current state. The conclusion refers specifically to BGS farm Farma Stonava.
