Mean absolute deviation risk measure
Janouchová, Petra ; Kozmík, Václav (advisor) ; Branda, Martin (referee)
This bachelor thesis considers the mean absolute deviation as a risk me- asure. It deals with its properties and its application in the case of the asset allocation problem. The Markowitz model is described and we demonstrated the relation between our model with mean absolute deviation and the Mar- kowitz model. We study the influence of changes in the input data for the linear model with mean absolute deviation. The primary data used in this thesis are historical relative rates of profit of shares in the Prague Stock Ex- change. The testing is done on the selected subsets of scenarios from primary data and the stability is discussed in conclusion.

Petra Janouchová - Hellenisation of Ancient Thrace based on epigraphical evidence Abstract: More than 4600 inscriptions in the Greek language come from Thrace, the area located in the Southeastern Balkan Peninsula. These inscriptions provide socio-demographic data, allowing the study of changing behavioural patterns in reaction to cross-cultural inter- actions. Traditionally, one of the essential indications of the influence of the Greek culture on the population of ancient Thrace was the practice of commissioning inscriptions in the Greek language. By using quantitative and systematic analysis, the inscriptions can be studied from a new perspective that places them into broader regional context. I use this methodology to assess the concept of Hellenization as one of the possible interpretative frameworks for the study of ancient society. Using a spatiotemporal analysis of inscrip- tions, this research shows that epigraphic production cannot be solely linked with the cultural and political influence of Greek speaking communities. However, the phenome- non of epigraphic production is closely connected to the growth of social complexity and consequent changes in the behavioural patterns of the population. The growth in social complexity is followed by an increase of epigraphic production of public and private...

The First and the Second Athenian Maritime League - a Comparison
Janouchová, Petra ; Souček, Jan (advisor) ; Marek, Václav (referee)
The main aim of this work is to compare the First (478/7 - 404 B. C.) and the Second (378/7 - 338 B. C.) Athenian Maritime League, which were often put together without paying attention to both literary and epigraphical sources. The First League transformed into the Athenian Empire which exploited its own allies and often set about the violence. The Second League is frequently told to had grown into the "second empire". This work compares the evidence about the organisation, the administrative machinery and the relations within leagues to pinpoint common features and to distinguish the differences. The main focus of this work is financial system of both alliances since it was one of the main reasons for allies to defect.
