Two slabs, two volumes. Pedestal versus overhanged mass of library itself. Tectonic principle column-architrave unites with Le Corbusier's Dom-ino, the contstruction is fully readable. The upper volume of the library dominates by its inner space as well. That one is bright, clear and open space, modulated by the furnishings only. It enables to create generous space as well as intimate corners. Variability is inevitable in nowadays era of digitalization, when the requirements of libraries change dramatically.

The Effectiveness of Harmreduction Programmes in a Night Entertainment Environment in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis answers the research question: To what extent are Harm reduction programs effective in the nightlife environment in the Czech Republic? It deals with Harm reduction programs in the night entertainment environment, mapping their history in the Czech Republic, presenting the reasons and principles of their operation and the organizations that are providing or have provided this service in the past. It defines the research space in which the thesis moves by presenting the dance scene, the target group and the most commonly used addictive substances in this environment. It also presents the ways in which this type of service is currently provided and what interventions it offers. The theoretical part of the thesis also presents a comparison with European countries with more progressive drug policies. The practical part presents a case study of the PARTYHARMreduction programme provided by Progressive o.p.s. The examination of this service serves to portray how Harmreduction services operate in this setting. It was conducted through a semi-structured interview with the programme manager, as well as unstructured interviews with programme staff and participant observation during the delivery of the service.

Problems of secondary victimization of children crime victims with special focus on evalution of credibility of child witness

The bachelor thesis "Problems of Secondary Victimization of Children Crime Victims With Special Focus on Evaluation of Credibility of Child Witness " deals with the victimological view of a child as a witness of a criminal act. The thesis is specifically focused on the issue of secondary abuse by close environment of a victim and by the official bodies involved in investigation. Its unique attribute is evaluating of the credibility of a child witnesses - victims of criminal acts of sexual abuse - by forensic experts. The empirical part contains of a research interpretation in the form of a questionnaire completed by forensic experts. The aim of a research was to bring closer the attitudes and opinions of experts in the areas of psychology, pedopsychiatry and clinical psychology with regard to secondary victimization, methods of evaluating the credibility of child witness and reflection of their own position in the system. The research results show that the process of evaluating of credibility by forensic experts is not wholly objective, an indispensable part of the outcome of evaluation depends on personal traits of an expert, their motivation and time disposition. Services in the Name of Good Rotary Clubs in the Czech Republic

The thesis analyses the motives of charity and its various forms in the present society. It builds on the critical theory of "studying up", formulated by Laura Nader in 1970s. It considers the difficulties of ethnographic research in an unequal-power terrain, where the anthropologist finds himself in an unwelcome position. Based on a one-year long research of Rotary clubs, the thesis examines the question of whether the charity is a pure act of altruism, following of self-interest, or a combination of both. Charity has lost its significance from its original Christian form over time. Today, it takes the form of a successful marketing tool. For someone it may mean caring for the disadvantaged, for another a simple tool to ease his conscience; for others a convenient pretext for the setting up of a private club. Charity in some respect replaced the Christian confession and like other commodities in the neoliberal system is consumed without creating a long-term relation between the donor and the donee. Rotary International is a worldwide network of private clubs, among its members are leaders in the financial sector, health care, public administration, journalism and science and research. Analysis of the measures against right-wing extremism of state and non-govermental oragnizations in the Czech Republic

This thesis is dedicated to the defense of the country against right-wing extremism. The first part describes the theoretical background, which is Karl Loewenstein's Militant democracy and its critics at the same time. Also it gives a definition of extremism, which is known to be a problematic concept. The development of Czech right-wing extremist scene is described briefly. The first part of the analytical section explores Czech legislation on the ground of Militant democracy criterions. The main point of this thesis is the analysis of concrete measures against right-wing extremism based on an expert survey. These measures come from both government and non-governmental organizations. This way the analysis reflects both dimensions theoretical basis - Militant democracy and its critics, that emphasize the efficient function of the nongovernmental sector. The measures are evaluated by their efficiency and furthermore analyzed by their pros and cons. The main goal of this thesis is to evaluate the measures and select the most effective ones.

Possibilities and borders in social work in prison

RESUMÉ Ve své práci "Možnosti a. limity sociální práce ve vězeňství" jsem se zaměřila na výkon profese sociálních pracovníků ve vězeňství. První kapitola je orientována na na definici, kompetence a role sociálního pracovníka obecně. V další části práce je představena historie a současnost sociální práce ve věznicích, činnosti sociálního pracovníka a zásady při jednání s odsouzenými. Dále je pozornost zaměřena zvláště na zmapování možností, vyjadřující ideální stav, sociální práce ve věznicích a limitů sociální práce ve věznicích. Okrajově je zde zmíněna práce sociálních pracovníků s drogově závislým odsouzeným, včetně historie spolupráce s neziskovými organizacemi při práci s drogově závislým odsouzeným. Praktická část předkládá výzkumnou sondu provedenou dotazníkovým šetření se sociálními pracovníky ve věznicích. Hledám zde odpovědi na otázky, jak vnímají sociální pracovníci svou práci a co nejvíce pociťují jako limity ve své práci.
