Assesment of air concentration in water depending on pressure
Uttendorfský, Petr ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with air concentration in the water. The general conception comes from Henry's law about gas dissolved in the liquids depending on pressure. The basic derivation, the values which influence dissolvability and the Henry's Law constant´s forms are discussed here. Next part is about the usage aeration in the industry and in the construction of aeration systems. The special equipment is for realization experiment. This special equipment is gas´s accumulator based. The measured values are expressed as the tables and the graphs. The data from experiment validated the force of Henry´s Law: with growing pressure above water level, the air concentration in the water is growing too.
The storage water plants problem appreciation
Archalous, Jakub ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Sloupenský, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the use of hydropower. It gives an overview of hydroelectric plants and describes mechanisms that convert water energy into electric energy. The most attention is paid to the principle and operation of pumped storage power plants and the machinery used there. Also the efficiency of the pumping cycle at Dlouhe Strane power plant is calculated.
Slip factor of the hydrodynamic pumps
Chromek, Lukáš ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Klas, Roman (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the initial draft of an impeller wheel, determination of its specific energy that has a pump with infinite number of impeller blades and following correction to real specific energy of an impeller wheel pump with finite number of blades. The correction will be performed using different methods by various authors and some of the methods will also be compared during the calculation of specific energy and discharge head of pump of several real impeller wheels. Then the thesis goes on to deal with some of the effects arising from the flow of fluid in the impeller wheel that often have negative influence on above-mentioned specific energy. At the end of the thesis, there will be brief abstract on problems of the correction, simulation, and analysis of flow in a blade channel using CFD software.
Microplastics removing from water
Ermis, Martin ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Štigler, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the occurrence of microplastics in water, the reasons for their potential elimination, and the possibilities leading to that. More specifically, it focuses on flotation as a process for removing microplastics from water. Flotation is further described from a theoretical point of view and its mathematical model is developed. The wettability of selected polymers is measured. The experiment performed to determine the efficiency of flotation as a process of treating water from microplastics is described. This efficiency is further compared to measured wettability.
Hydrodynamic dampers on the principle of magnetic fluid
Přikryl, Matěj ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Pochylý, František (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with damping vibrations emerging due to the movement of a vehicle. The first section provides an overview of contemporary types of dampers with thorough explanation of the principle of hydrodynamic damper. This section also contains simulation of vibrating vehicle equipped with passive damper. Literature research of magnetic fluids and description of magnetoviscous phenomenon is presented in the second part, which freely continues to the topic of magnetorheological (MR) dampers. The final chapter firstly describes current hydrodynamic dampers based on squeeze film (SF) mode of magnetorheological fluid and at the conclusion the author's concept of SF MR damper is submitted.
Measurement of dynamic characteristic of check valves
Novák, Jan ; Himr, Daniel (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
Master thesis presents overview of existing types of check valves, their features, uses and issue called "cracking". Experimental part of this thesis focuses on the lift and swing check valves. Results of the measurement are evaluated from non-stationary flow point of view by developing and analyzing static and dynamic characteristics. This thesis takes into account losses and dynamic effects as main viewpoints. Two methods for measuring non-stationary velocities are used. Direct method called Gibson and indirect method laser doppler anemometry. Goal of the master thesis is to increase understanding of the check valves and their applicability.
Phase equilibrium curve of gas mixtures
Fúdor, Vlastimil ; Habán, Vladimír (referee) ; Himr, Daniel (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the construction phase diagrams of various gas mixtures. The properties of real gas mixtures are modeled by two equations of state. The simpler one is the Peng-Robinson equation of state. The more complex and accurate equation of state is the GERG-2004. Two methods are used to construct the phase diagram namely the successive substitution method and the Newton method. The numerical procedure has been developed in Python programming language. A zip archive of the developed program is an integral part of the thesis. This program solves gas mixtures consisting of nitrogen, carbon dioxide, methane, ethane, propane, n-butane, isobutane, n-pentane, isopentane, n-hexane, n-heptane.
Unsteady flow in pipeline
Šrenk, David ; Fialová, Simona (referee) ; Himr, Daniel (advisor)
The thesis deals with unsteady flow in the pipeline. Only one component of velocity is dominant in piping, so the problem is simplified to one-dimensional. Bachelor thesis has an analytical basis in partial differential equations of hyperbolic type. The problem and types of numerical methods are also numerically described. The numerical methods describe the boundary conditions and properties of the given methods.
Determination of check valve dynamic properties
Dolníček, Petr ; Habán, Vladimír (referee) ; Himr, Daniel (advisor)
One of the objectives of the master´s thesis is to summarize types of most used check valves and their constructions. These check valves have specific static and dynamic properties. One of dynamic properties is vibration of closing member of lift check valve. Due to these vibrations, the added effects of fluid may result. This thesis deals with explanation and computation of these added effects.
Numerical model of air valve
Luňák, Pavel ; Štigler, Jaroslav (referee) ; Himr, Daniel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals the formation of water hammer in pipes and the suppress the nega-tive effects especially for the use of protective devices (surge tank, air chamber, air valve and other). The special attention is paid to the use of the air valve, for which it was developed mathematical model. The solution is based on the use of numerical methods Lax-Wendroff with boundary conditions for the air valve. The numerical results are confronted with the ex-periment in conclusion.
