Changes of settlement structures of Hořovice region in middle ages

The aim of the bachelor work is a basic settlement-historic settlement pattern characteristic of changes Horovitz region from 6th to 15th century. Emphasis is placed on archaeological receivable transformation of rural settlements and the network of central sites. The starting point is the evaluation of surface collections, detector and geophysical survey and archaeological excavations of a medieval settlement on the land village Suchomasty (district Beroun), which took place 2010. Besides the analysis of the transformation of the residential complex work provides a basic idea of the development of ceramic production in this unprospect region. Knowledge of the wider context of settlement is based on a search of existing archaeological activities and analytical surface collections in selected areas in which students were involved ÚPA FF UK. Reviews of written sources is partly based on the upcoming work by dr. D. Kalhous. Findings of the study are compared with the existing concept of transformation of rural settlements in the Czech Kingdom. Czech-Bavarian cultural relations in the early Middle Ages

This diploma thesis presents an attempt on a multi-disciplinary approach to the oldest period of Czech-Bavarian relations no from the point of view of political history but cultural history. The aim of the work excludes the analysis of all problems because material sources, unlike written sources which are available in primary issues, have still added up and which have not been mapped basically, or evaluated, so far. The text has a disposition of several research probes to written sources that are evaluated by existing subjective approaches; I make an analysis of their possibilities and limits. In the introductory chapter, I focus on the chronological problem limitation and the problems of the ethnic interpretation. The next part contains of an overview of Czech-Bavarian contacts from the point of view of political history and specific hypotheses. The second chapter is dedicated to the problems of the Slavonic settlement of Northeastern Bavaria which has marginalized by Czech research workers so far. In the third chapter, which is focused on chronological relations among early medieval burying grounds in Bohemia and in Northeastern Bavaria, I deal with local differences in dating of S-shaped rings and imply some solutions of this problem. Early medieval settlement in Cheb-region

The presented work devoted to the problematic of early Middle Ages' settlement of Cheb region does not represent the first work on the given subject. The nationalistic context of the time left its mark on studies by R. Turek, E. Šimek, and partly even A. Hejna from the 50th and 60th of the last century as well as on older German publications (to the history of research see capture 2). It is the reason of author's acceptation of the given topic without preconceived ethnically schemes.
Archaeological map of the Czech Republic (AMCR) as a backbone infrastructure of the Czech archaeology

The general aim of the AMCR project is to enhance the effectiveness of the information flow in Czech archaeology, i.e. in the framework of registering archaeological fieldwork and their results. This goal we see as a fundamental predisposition of the effective heritage management and one of the basic perquisites of successful theoretical research in archaeology, as well as in the presentation of archaeological heritage to the general public. The paper summarises current situation and outlines directions of the future development.
