Identification and evaluation of websites of harm reduction interventions targeting illicit drug users in the Czech Republic

The thesis describes the course and results of the research into the field of Harm Reduction (HR) through the internet websites in the Czech language. Nowadays the internet forms an inseparable part of most people's lives from all social classes. This fact is reflected in the interests of both service providers for drug users and laymen interested in drug issues. Unfortunately, according to current research we do not know much about what information and in which quality and range can people find about drug Harm reduction on the internet. Therefore, the aim of this thesis was to identify and evaluate internet websites in the field of harm reduction intervention focused on the users of illegal drugs in the Czech Republic. Internet websites were evaluated not only with respect to the contents and range of the information provided but also with respect to topicality, functionality and objectivity. What was found were 13 Czech complex websites, 7 professional HR organisations and also 6 non-professional HR websites. The websites of professional organisations in most cases fulfilled the essential criteria of authority, objectivity and topicality. The thesis describes the course and results of the research into interventions through the internet websites in the Czech language for the users of opioids and amphetamines. Nowadays the internet forms an inseparable part of most people's lives from all social classes. This fact is reflected in the interests of both service providers for drug users and laymen interested in drug issues. Unfortunately, according to current research we do not know much about what information and in which quality and range can people find about drug issues on the internet. Therefore, the aim of this thesis was to find and analyse internet websites focused on the users of illegal drugs (opioids and amphetamines) in the Czech republic. Promoting the Tobacco Control Law No. 379/2005 in the City of Vsetín: a Pilot Project Based on the Cooperation of an NGO and the Local Department of the Czech Police Force

This paper outlines the development of a pilot project that involved cooperation between a civic association and the local police department in the area of promoting the tobacco control law no. 379/2005 in the city of Vsetín. In the theory chapter I describe the effects smoking of tobacco has on the human body with a particular attention to the effects on children. The next section is about the field project "Children Don't Smoke", which the NGO carried out in the city of Vsetín, and its specific stages. The following chapter details each stage: the planning meetings of the members of the NGO and the police force, the information campaign and the evaluation process. Finally, in the conclusion I summarize the experience of the NGO with the state administration in applying the law in the area of tobacco control.. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
