RISING A CHILD IN A PROBLEM FAMILY

The work is concerned with a mother suffering from minor mental retardation, her parental competitions and effects on her children upbringing. It describes approaches of the institutions involved in social care, taking precautions in order to protect the children and the influence of these on their personality and search for the most suitable forms of support to raise them. In the theoretical part, terms of mental retardation, family and children upbringing, pathological and positive effects on upbringing are set. At the end of this part I set the terms of rights and obligations and judicial subjectivity of mentally retarded people. The practical part is focused on a research on the mother with minor mental retardation and analysis of documents conducted through observations and dialogues.
