Low noise pavement surfaces
Zítka, Patrik ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis focuses on the use of low-noise road surfaces, due to a constant increase of traffic noise nowadays. Within this work different types of roadways are analyzed and their advantages and disadvantages are shown. Additionally, the basic measuring methods of the traffic noise are described and summarized. Finally the procedures and results of the measurements on noise emissions on low-noise surface VIAPHONE® are discussed.
Low temperature behaviour of asphalt mixtures
Štěpanovský, Vlastimil ; Stehlík, Dušan (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
In this thesis it was paid attention to behaviour asphalt mixture of low temperature. The theoretical part deals with the technologies for reducing of mixing temperature and with their comparison. The thesis is notionally divided into two parts. The practical part is focused on the assessment of low temperature features by the test of asphalt mixture resistance against the formation of frost cracks according to ČSN EN 12697-46. Three mixtures were tested. The aim was to find if the low-temperature characteristics get worse compared to the commonly tested mixtures of the same gradation.
Cold recycling
Šperka, Pavel ; Stehlík, Dušan (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis focuses on the processing of knowledge of flexible pavements cold recycling, especially on the technologies if full depth reclamation and partial cold recycling in-place and the benefits or reasons for the increased use in the Czech Republic. In the practical part of the thesis the current status of selected sections, which were made by practical cold in-place recycling technology, is evaluated. In the end of the work the success of this technology is evaluated.
Binders for flexible pavements
Pěnčík, Michal ; Čiháčková, Pavlína (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The Bachelor`s thesis is focused on binders, which are used in flexible pavements. Firstly, we offer the reader description of different types of bitumen binders, which could be found in nature, and binders produced from petroleum through the process of distillation and further processing. Later on, we focus on the issue of testing these binders. The last part of the work deals with alternative types of binders which could potentially replace traditional bitumen binders.
Skid resistance of pavements
Stránský, Jakub ; Stehlík, Dušan (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis main purpose is to process the knowledge about skid resistance, its mesurement, the equipment used and its failures and suitable repairs of solid and nonsolid roadways. The practical part evaluates skid resistance properities of selected highway sections with solid and nonsolid surface on the basis of measured values of PTV.
Adhesion of bituminous binders to aggregate
Vlk, Petr ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
In 2005 the revised European standard 12697-11:2005 [1] was introduced offering a choice of three different methods. The static method described in part B has some similarities with the replaced Swiss standard for the determination of the affinity between bitumen and aggregates [2] and Czech standard for adhesions of asfalt binder to aggregates ČSN 73 6161 [3]. The result of this study is to compare the static method described in the [3] and a draft changes by Swiss research project [4] with the current revision of the European Standard 12697-11: 2005.
The dynamic cone penetrometer for compaction control of the pavement subgrade
Krajčovič, Tomáš ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The basis of this piece is focused on a literature review, describing the use of the dynamic cone penetrometer, used to control the compaction degree of the subsoil road, consisting of fine-grained soil. The practical part focuses on its main goal, which is to observe the dependence of dynamic penetration on the compactibility of the fine-grained soil mixture.
Road condition rating in Czech Republic
Nowak, Tomáš ; Stehlík,, Dušan (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
This Bachelor’s Thesis maps technical condition of road network in Czech Republic. Attention is especially devoted to 2ND and 3RD class road and the issue of financing the infrastructure.
Toll issues
Mareček, Jakub ; Stehlík,, Dušan (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the issues of toll collection in the road network. The first part of the work describes the established tolling methods and focuses on volume-distance tolling. It deals with electronic toll collection systems and the microwave toll technology used in the Czech Republic. The second part focuses on the fees charged for use of road network, function of the Customs Administration and telematic systems. The third part centers on the extension of toll to second- and third-class roads and the costs of implementation and managment of toll collection. The fourth part of the work discusses the issues and evaluation of the system of implementation, extension and collection of toll.
Maintenance and reconstruction of pavements issues
Masaříková, Petra ; Stehlík,, Dušan (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis deals with failures of roadways on the basis of the TP 82 Catalog failures of flexible pavements and their subsequent options of reparations. It includes the description of technology maintenance and reparations of roads on the basis of the TP 87 Design of maintenance and reparations of flexible roads and new options of technology of reparations and maintenance. Further in this thesis there is a comparison of technologies of reparations and maintenance according to several criteria.
