Methods for suppressing NOx formation
Pořízek, Vít ; Hájek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bělohradský, Petr (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis are emissions of nitrogen oxides. The work deals with the suppressing their formation and with the possibilities of their elimination directly from the flue gas. The first part of the work analyses NOx emission limits for all stationary sources of pollution as well as the current effective legislation regarding emission limits of both European Union and the Czech Republic. Further part focused on nitrogen oxides themselves, their characteristics, impact on environment and last but not least on their formation mechanisms. Finally NOx reduction techniques are analysed and described, both primary and secondary.
Burner testing
Rychter, Aleš ; Hájek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bělohradský, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with testing of burners used in industrial applications. Overall is work divided into two main parts in which the first one is focused on basic classification of burners according to mixing type, fuel type and air supply system. The Second part of work is then focused on the burner tests. It describes types of tests and test environments in which the combustion tests can be carried out. In terms of tests, it is then necessary to make some important decisions, including the choices of testing fuel, combustion chamber and oxidizer, which have impact on the result. The preparation of tests also includes the developing of test procedure in which it is necessary to include the requirements of specific tests. The tests have to be carried out according to the relevant technical standards. After the realization of every test the evaluation of measured data has to be done and the test report summarizing the results of the test has to be issued. Since during the tests a number of process variables is measured like emissions, temperatures, pressures, flow rates, etc., the necessary instrumentation is described as well.
Care for Jewish pregnant woman-national differences
Primich, Xeniya ; Hájek, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Šimonová, Daniela (referee)
The work deals with a summary of complete care for a Jewish pregnant woman, starting with prenatal care and ending with childbirth. In the theoretical part, Judaism is briefly discussed, the main aspects that are important for understanding the text are explained. There is also a brief overview of the history of Jewish obstetrics, in which a midwife played an irreplaceable role. Today's Judaism includes various directions that have evolved from rabbinic Judaism. The main part of my work is devoted to obstetrics in Israel, the current situation and specifics. An integral part of the Jewish world are the Orthodox groups, which follow the laws most strictly, so they may have special needs during their stay in the maternity hospital. In the Czech Republic, these groups belong to minorities. Within her competencies, the midwife should look for ways to make the stay in the maternity hospital more pleasant for patients from these groups. This would lead to a deeper understanding of the person concerned and improved care. Keywords: Jewish birth family habits, Jewish childbirth, Jewish laws, midwifery in Israel, Orthodox Jews, Jewish cultural differences
Thrombophilia in pregnancy
Vítková, Magda ; Kvasnička, Jan (advisor) ; Hájek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Penka, Jaroslav (referee)
5 ABSTRACT Background: Thromboembolic disease is one of the most common causes of pregnant women morbidity and mortality. The pregnancy period is often the first time, when the apparent congenital or acquired thrombophilia is identi- fied. Patients with thrombophilia have an increased risk of pregnancy compli- cations. The optimal anticoagulant prophylaxis helps to prevent these compli- cations. Methods: The presented work is focused on monitoring of coagulation param- eters, blood counts and acute phase proteins in pregnant women (N = 68) with thrombophilia treated with enoxaparin during pregnancy and it is also con- cerned with evaluation of effectiveness of anticoagulant therapy during preg- nancy using anti FXa activity determination based on inhibition of FXa weight, coagulation parameters and acute phase proteins. In the first and the second part of the study, there is no control group of pregnant patients with severe thrombophilia, but no anticoagulation - this is justified by ethical rea- sons. In the third part, we examined by questionnaire our patients for enoxap- arin adverse reactions at the injection site. Finally, the last part is focused on evaluation of enoxaparin effects on bone remodelling markers, compared with a group of pregnant women without anticoagulation. Results: During the...
The relationship between selected inflammation markers and markers of the endothelial dysfunction to preterm labor and fetal inflammatory response
Koucký, Michal ; Hájek, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Krofta, Ladislav (referee) ; Živný, Jan (referee)
The doctoral dissertacion is focused on the role of inflammation in the pathogenesis of preterm labor. In the first part, we describe the current view on pathophysiology of preterm labor. In the second part, we evaluated the relationship of specific markers of inflammation and endothelial dysfunction to preterm birth and fetal inflammatory response. The most important findings of our study was that we found decreased levels of MMP-2 and decreased levels of sRAGE in women with preterm labor in comparison with the control group of pregnant women. Similarly, we found decreased levels of MMP-2 in women with subsequent diagnosed fetal inflammatory response. sRAGE is currently ranked among patttern recognition receptors. In the case of sRAGE we followed the results of our pilot project, it can be assumed that the its low level are connected with tissue damage. We confirmed that it can play an important role in the pathogenesis of preterm labor. We assume abnormal regulatory mechanisms of the production of MMP-2. In both cases, however, further studies are required to elucidate the functional significance of our results.
National differences in obstetrics - care of a woman in labour from Vietnam.
Leová, Minh Thuy ; Hájek, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Šimonová, Daniela (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with Vietnamese community, especially Vietnamese women. It contains of brief information about Vietnam and its culture. The thesis also describes the specific needs of Vietnamese woman during pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium. The thesis i salso involved in obstetrics in Vietnam which is different from czech obstetrics. Therefore, my aim was to find out whether Vietnamese women are satisfied with care during pregnancy and childbirth in the Czech Republic. What traditions and rituals are used in conection with prenatal, childbirth and postpartum periods, whether they are still adhered to even though they have been born in the czech republic or living here for a short time. Another aim was to find out whether the language barrier is the main problem during hospitalization between the vietnamese woman and the medical staff and how this barrier is solved. In the practical part quantitative research was carried out using a questionaire survey. I divided the respondents into two groups on vietnamese woman 1. and 2. generation. After that the data analysis was carried out and research showed that vietnamese woman rated prenatal care and the care in czech matertiny hospitals positively. Then vietnamese traditions and rituals were examined during pregnancy, childbirth and...
