Proposal warehouse in engineering company

This bachelor's study deals with the design of a newly built warehouse in an engineering company. The first part of the study described the company for whom the design was created. The second part deals with the issue of storage spaces. It describes the foundational functions and types of warehouses, logistics and inventory management, or material handling equipment. In the next part, the storage capacity was calculated and two variants of the solution were proposed. Both variants are solved using pallet racks, where the first design is for VNA system carts and the second is designed for mobile racks. Drawing documentation was prepared for both variants. Lastly, both of the variants were evaluated from a technical and economic point of view.

The main content of this master´s thesis is the analysis of the current state and the proposal an internal supply of assembly lines in the company Koyo Bearings s. r. o. This company specializes in the production of bearings mainly for the automotive industry. The supply of the lines operates on the principle of Mikl-run. The practical part focuses on creating a simulation model using the Plant Simulation simulation software from Siemens PLM Software. Based on the created model, several variants were proposed to optimize the loading of the packaging material. These variants were analyzed and evaluated.
