Author: Jakub Eichler Title of the thesis: Comprehensive physiotherapeutic care of a patient after ankle fracture Objectives: First, to summarize theoretically the problems of ankle fracture including its anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the ankle joint and the possibilities of treatment and subsequent rehabilitation. And then narrate a case report of the complex care of a patient after a fracture of the ankle joint in a special section. Methods: In the theoretical one, the anatomy of the tibia and foot, kinesiology and biomechanics of the foot in the gait cycle, changes in gait stereotype due to ankle fracture, classification of ankle fractures and possible treatment approaches and aspects of follow- up care are presented. The special section then contains a complete case study of a patient after ankle fracture, including initial and outcome kinesiological analysis, description of the different therapeutic units and evaluation of the effect of therapy, which is confronted with current scientific knowledge in the discussion. Results: The case report showed improvement in most of the functionally relevant aspects with the most noticeable improvement in gait when comparing the results of the initial and final examination.
