Evidence of medical devices in VFN
Slanina, Jakub ; Haase, Jiří (advisor) ; Dušek, Jaroslav (referee)
The aim of this thesis is an essential analysis of current data records of medical devices in the General Teaching Hospital in Prague, and especially to create a software that would facilitate the evidence and management of medical devices. The General Teaching Hospital in Prague is now using a universal software FaMa + from TESCO SW to cover the needs of management of medical devices. This software is used among others for the purpose of building passports, human resources, various requisitions, management and economics. This software does not ideally cover all the specific needs of medical devices in GTH and it is very complex and demanding. For this reason, the requirement was to create a new software that would take over the function of recording and management of medical devices in the future. It would also be better suited for the requirements, based on operational and economic needs of the hospital. The creation of a new software was based on requirements of the General Teaching Hospital employees, whether in terms of operational and graphics, as well as in terms of control. To create the new software following languages were used: PHP, HTML, JavaScript a database engine My SQL. The result of this work is a basic description of some registered attributes done by dividing into groups and...
Ir.M.A. - Infrared Measurement and Analysis of Accommodation and Vergency
Jindra, Tomáš ; Dušek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Páta, Petr (referee)
This work is dealing with design of the systém for measuring dynamics of the vergence and accommodation. Vergence accommodation synkinesis is a complex process controlled by various mechanisms in CNS. Deviations from physiological state of the vision process are projected to course of the vergence accommodation curves and is possible the quantitative and qualitative evaluation. For this purpose was designed the measuring system Ir.M.A. (Infrared Measurement of Accommodation). The system uses high-speed videometric device for determination of the relative vergence and relative accomodation of the eyes. Stimulation of the patient's eyes is performed by the standardized jump change of the fixation object distance. The object is reconstruted by holographic method. Measured videosequences are processed by the image analysis. Results of the image analysis are courses of the vergence and accommodation curves depending on time and characteristics of the curves. System is designed for using in clinical practice where it could be used as screening instrument for diagnostics of the oculomotor system disorders.
Antiradical Activity of Extracts of Fagopyrum Esculentum Moench Leaves and Seed.
Mikšátková, Petra ; Spilková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Dušek, Jaroslav (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacognosy Candidate: Mgr. Petra Mikšátková Consultant: Doc. RNDr. Jiřina Spilková, CSc. Title of Thesis: Antiradical activity of extracts of Fagopyrum esculentum Moench leaves and seeds. Representatives of the genus Fagopyrum (Polygonaceae) contain many substances of high nutritive value, such as proteins, dietary fibre, vitamins and flavonoids and therefore buckwheat is often used as food. It is the major dietary source of rutin, flavonoid which is used for treatment of fragility and permeability of blood vessels. The content of rutin in samples of Fagopyrum esculentum was determined. The highest amount was detected in buckwheat leaves (4.93%). Significantly lower amout was found in whole and dehulled seeds, hulls, buckwheat flour and chips (0.01%). Buckwheat flakes didn't contain rutin. Antioxidant activity is an important property of rutin. It is probably responsible for many biological effects of this flavonoid. This activity was evaluated by using free radical 2,2,-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrasyl (DPPH method). Rutin and hyperoside were used as standards. Antioxidant acitivity decreased in this order: hyperoside (IC50 = 0.0041 mg/ml) > rutin (IC50 = 0.0047 mg/ml) > buckwheat leaves (IC50 = 0.12 mg/ml) > whole...
Explant Culture of Trifolium pratense L.
Šustrová, Lenka ; Kašparová, Marie (advisor) ; Dušek, Jaroslav (referee)
Explant Culture of Trifolium pratense L. A principial precondition for successful elicitation used to increase the production of secondary metabolities is, among other, finding a suitable elicitor, its concentration and the optimal period of time of the action of the elicitor on the plant culture in vitro, which was the aim of the present thesis. The effect was examined of a 6, 24, 48 and 168 hour action of the solution of mercury dichloride (in four concentrations) on the production of flavonoids and isoflavonoids in the callus and suspension culture of Trifolium pratense L. cultivated on a Gamborg medium with an addition of 2 mg.l-1 of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid and 2 mg.l-1 of 6-benzylaminopurine, at the temperature of 25řC and 16 hour light/8 hour dark period. The maximal content of flavonoids found by a photometric determination according to Pharmacopoeia Bohemica 2005 was demonstrated in the callus culture (0,636 %) after 6 hour action of the elicitor of the 100 µmol concentration and in the suspension culture (0,492 %) after 168 hour action of the elicitor of the 10 µmol concentration. The maximal content of isoflavonoids found by a HPLC method was demonstrated in the suspension culture after 168 hour action of the elicitor of the 100 µmol concentration (0,03 % of daidzein) and after 168...

This dissertation pursues the possibility of increasing quality of teaching students in medical fields using LMS Moodle. It is based on years of experience with designing of e-learning courses at the Charles University. LMS Moodle uses knowledge of computer-aided or computer-controlled teaching at universities. According to an analysis of the changing situation at universities that is characterized by increasing number of students, also by creation of bachelor degree courses and unideal teaching financial security on the one hand and the significant developement of ICT on the other. As part of this work the usability of ICT in medical study fields was solved in subjects "Medical Informatics" , " Prosthetic materials and technology" and " Gnathology". In the last year (2010) LMS Moodle was started for a whole network of medical faculties that cooperate on the creation and access to electronic learning materials MEFANET (Medical faculty's network since 2007). Analysis of the central installation operation of Charles University's LMS Moodle for teaching from 2004 to 2010 gives a good picture of the aspects associated with the operation LMS Moodle, which would help assisting in management of LMS Mooodle Mefanet. The tracking of an e-learning course's development within the central Moodle installation at the...
Isolation of vacuoles from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgii suspension cultures
Ševčíková, Šárka ; Martin, Jan (advisor) ; Dušek, Jaroslav (referee)
10. ABSTRACT Šárka Ševčíková Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Heyrovského 1203, 500 05 Hradec Králové Isolation of vacuoles from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgii suspension cultures Diploma thesis Supervisor: Pharm.Dr. Jan Martin, Ph.D. Page Count: 52 The goal of the thesis was to develop methodology for isolation of vacuoles from suspension cultures of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgii of the Lamiaceae family. The original concept was based on a method used at the Division of Pharmacognosy, Leiden University, Holland. This method proved unsuitable. After getting acquainted with available papers concerning methods of isolation of vacuoles from miscellaneous plant species and after performing a series of experiments, we have managed to introduce such method of our own which utilizes Ficoll gradient. Preexisting methods of isolation of vacuoles varied in data on lytic enzymes, incubation time, lytic solution composition and density gradient, too. We managed to optimize the individual steps, which led to successful isolation of vacuoles. The resulting method makes it possible to isolate vacuoles in a relatively short time and in sufficient quality for further experiments. Keywords: Baikal Skullcap, Scutellaria, vacuoles, flavonoids, ficoll, gradient, isolation of vacuoles

Hřebecká, Ludmila ; Dušek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Kašparová, Marie (referee)
HŘEBECKÁ, L. Vitamins and their representation in medicinaly products. Hradec Králové: Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy, 2011. 55 p. Supervisor: Doc. RNDr. Jaroslav Dušek, CSc. In this diploma thesis I deal with the content of individual vitamins in mass produced pharmaceuticals. The general introduction is followed by the overview of the most frequent vitamins in these products and their characteristic. Furthermore, there are tables with the recommended intake of nutrients for individual groups of people. There are also tables with the level of vitamins in selected products. The thesis is finished with an overall summary where I focus on a comparison of the contents of vitamins with the recommended intake of nutrients. Finally, there is a division of products into two categories- the save ones and, on the contrary, the ones which should rather be omitted.
