Maryam Madjidi: Marx et la poupée. A thesis consisting of a translation of the book, supplemented by a study on the subject of French authors of Iranian origin and their contribution to French literature

The aim of this diploma thesis is to create a Czech translation of the first part of the novel Marx et la poupée by the Iranian-French author Maryam Madjidi and to complement it with a study that will introduce the issue of French authors of Iranian origin in a broader context. The first part of the thesis consists of a theoretical study that discusses in more detail the Iranian diaspora in France, the literary production of its members, as well as the reception of their works in the Czech Republic. The second part of the thesis presents the actual translation of the first part of the novel Marx et la poupée and the third part is devoted to a commentary on this translation, in which the author, the translated work, its characteristic features and selected translation problems will be presented in more detail. Building materials in the Fifth Dynasty pyramid complexes

This B.A. thesis is a study of the use of the stone building materials in the architecture of the pyramid complexes of the 5th Dynasty pharaohs. In the first part, the thesis presents various building stones used during the observed period, as well as various quarrying techniques. At the same time, the first part also presents some examples of various sources of information related to the phenomenon of quarrying expeditions. The second part of the thesis focuses on the pyramid complexes with regard to the use of the building stones. The emphasis is laid especially on the King Sahure's pyramid complex which is considered to be a turning point in the form of the pyramid complexes in general. Likewise, the complex is the best preserved one.
