Integration of biological and nonbiological systems - nanotechnology
Brynda, Eduard
The contact of biological media with a synthetic entity starts usually with adsorption of biological macromolecules, particularly proteins, onto its surface and subsequent biological interactions are mediated by a molecular layer formed on the surface. Thus, it is possible to control the interactions by specifically designed artificial assemblies of biological macromolecules immobilized on the object surface prior to its application. Albumin and anticoagulant heparin multilayers are used as blood-compatible coatings, assemblies bearing bioreceptors, such as antibodies and antigens are used as affinity surfaces in biosensors and separation methods.
Separation of peptides by capillary zone electrophoresis with regulation of electroosmotic flow by radial electric field
Kašička, Václav ; Prusík, Zdeněk ; Sázelová, Petra ; Koval, Dušan ; Barth, Tomislav ; Brynda, Eduard ; Stejskal, Jaroslav
A new way of control of efficiency, resolution and speed of peptide separations by capillary zone electrophoresis based on the regulation of electroosmotic flow by radial electric field has been developed.
